This part of IEC 61587 specifies the tests for empty cabinets and subracks concerning electromagnetic shielding performance, in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 3 000 MHz. Stipulated attenuation values are chosen for the definition of the shielding performance level of cabinets and subracks for the IEC 60297 and IEC 60917 series. The shielding performance levels are chosen with respect to the requirements of the typical fields of industrial application. They will support the measures to achieve electromagnetic compatibility but cannot replace the final testing of compliance of the equipped enclosure. The purpose of this standard is to ensure physical integrity and environmental performance of cabinets and subracks, taking into account the need for different levels of performance in different applications. It is intended to give the user a level of confidence in the selection of products to meet his specific needs. This standard in whole or in part applies only to the empty enclosures, for example cabinets and subracks according to IEC 60297 and IEC 60917 and does not apply to the enclosures when electronic equipment is installed. Chassis may be tested in the same way as subracks and cases may be tested in the same way as cabinets. This standard was developed in close relationship to IEC 61000-5-7 but with the specific focus on subracks and cabinets and the determination of performance levels at the chosen frequency range.

La CEI 61587-3:2013 spécifie les essais pour les baies et les bacs à cartes vides concernant leurs performances de blindage électromagnétique dans la gamme de fréquences de 30 MHz à 3 000 MHz. Les valeurs d'affaiblissement stipulées sont choisies pour la définition du niveau de performance de blindage des baies et des bacs à cartes pour les séries CEI 60297 et CEI 60917. Les niveaux de performances de blindage sont choisis en fonction des exigences des champs types d'application industrielle. Ils étayeront les mesures pour obtenir la compatibilité électromagnétique mais ils ne peuvent pas remplacer les essais finaux de conformité de l'enveloppe équipée. Cette deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition, parue en 2006, dont elle constitue une révision technique. Ta del IEC 61587 določa preskuse za prazne omarice in okvirje, ki se nanašajo na delovanje elektromagnetne zaščite, v frekvenčnem območju od 30 MHz do 3 000 MHz. Za določanje ravni zaslanjanja omaric in okvirjev za serijo IEC 60297 in IEC 60917 so izbrane predpisane vrednosti slabljenja. Ravni zaslanjanja so izbrane v skladu z zahtevami tipičnih polj industrijske uporabe. Te bodo podpirale ukrepe za doseganje elektromagnetne združljivosti, vendar ne morejo zamenjati končnega preskusa ustreznosti opremljenega okrova. Namen tega standarda je zagotovitev fizične neoporečnosti ter učinka omaric in okvirjev na okolje ob upoštevanju potrebe po različnih nivojih učinkovanja pri različnih rabah. Uporabniku naj bi dal raven samozavesti pri izbiri izdelkov, ki bodo ustrezali njegovim specifičnim potrebam. Ta standard se v celoti ali le deloma nanaša na prazne okrove, na primer omarice in okvirje v skladu z IEC 60297 in IEC 60917, ter se ne nanaša na okrove, ko je nameščena elektronska oprema. Šasije so lahko preskušene na enak način kot okvirji, zaboji pa na enak način kot omarice. CENELEC as EN 61587-3:2013.

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications,
Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC
