La présente norme comporte des spécifications relatives aux dimensions, aux classes et a la fourniture de lames a plancher.
Les spécifications des classes sont données pour les essences de bois suivantes : épicéa (Picea spp), sapin (Abies spp), pin sylvestre (Pinus sylvestris), méleze (Larix spp), Douglas (Pseudotsuga menziesii). Pour les essences non mentionnées, il convient de définir les limites des singularités énumérées dans le Tableau 3.
Les produits spécifiés dans la présente norme sont fabriqués a partir de bois résineux naturel non traité ou pré-fini avec revetement. La présente norme ne fournit aucune information sur le revetement lui-meme.

It is based upon current dimensionalstandards within the industry and other characteristics together with functions which have been verified bytest.A large amount of knowledge exists about solid softwood floor boards and values for product characteristicsare attested by long use and experience. It is therefore not necessary to have test results. EN 13990:2004 (E)51 ScopeThis European Standard defines the characteristics of solid softwood floor boards with tongue and groove forinternal use as flooring.This standard contains specifications about dimensions, grading and delivery of floor boards.Grading specifications are given for the following wood species: Norway spruce (Picea abies), Silver fir (Abiesalba), Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis), Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), European larch (Larix decidua), Douglasfir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). For species not mentioned the limits of features as listed in Table 3 should bestated.Products specified in this standard are manufactured from a natural untreated softwood or prefinished with acoating.
