Bitumen and bituminous binders - Determination of dynamic viscosity of modified bitumen - Part 1: Cone and plate method

This European Standard specifies a method for determining the dynamic viscosity of a bituminous binder over a range of temperatures by means of a cone and plateviscosimeter. NOTE:Unlike penetration grade bitumen, polymer modified bitumens (PmB) do not show a straight line on the Heukelom-Diagram. This implies that in order to obtain information about the temperature susceptibility of PmB's, viscosity should be measured at different temperatures.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der dynamischen Viskosität eines bitumenhaltigen Bindemittels mit einem Platte-Kegel- Viskosimeter über einen Temperaturbereich fest. ANMERKUNG: Anders als Penetrationsbitumen weist polymermodifiziertes Bitumen (PmB) keine gerade Linie im Heukelom-Diagramm auf. Das bedeutet, daß die Viskosität, um Angaben über die Temperaturabhängigkeit von PmB zu erhalten, bei verschiedenen Temperaturen gemessen werden sollte.

La présente Norme européenne prescrit une méthode permettant de déterminer la viscosité dynamique d'un liant bitumineux modifié sur un intervalle de température, au moyen d'un viscosimetre a cône et plateau. Bien que la méthode ait été développée pour les liants modifiés, elle est également applicable pour d'autres liants bitumineux.
NOTE   Contrairement aux bitumes purs, les bitumes modifiés par des polymeres (BMP) peuvent ne pas décrire une ligne droite sur le diagramme de Heukelom. En conséquence, pour obtenir des informations sur la susceptibilité a la température des BMP, il est recommandé de mesurer leur viscosité a différentes températures.
