Provision and invocation

Clause 5.2.3 states that user A must have two calls, and one of them must already have an established connection. Clause 5.2.3 says that, on successful invocation, the two original calls are removed from user A's access and replaced by a call between user B and user C. The service provider must inform both users that transfer has occurred and indicate whether the other side was already connected or was still being informed of the call. If permitted, ISDN numbers and subaddresses are passed between the transferred users subject to the calling and connected line restriction rules.

Rejection and exceptional cases

Clause 5.3.3 requires rejection when the user has not subscribed, when the network cannot connect user B and user C, or when the resulting connection would contain no user able to terminate the call, if the network applies that option. The user who requested transfer must be told why it was rejected, and the original calls must remain unchanged. If an ISDN number cannot be shown because of restriction or unavailability, the user must receive an indication of why no number is given.
