Fat and oil derivatives - Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) - Determination of iodine value

This document specifies a titrimetric method for the determination of iodine value in Fatty Acid Methyl Esters, hereinafter referred as FAME.
The precision statement of this test method was determined in a Round Robin exercise with iodine values in the range 111 g iodine/100 g to 129 g iodine/100 g.
The test method is also applicable for lower iodine values, however, the precision statement is not established for iodine values below 111 g iodine/100 g.

Erzeugnisse aus pflanzlichen und tierischen Fetten und Ölen - Fettsäure-Methylester (FAME) - Bestimmung der Iodzahl

Dieses Dokument legt ein titrimetrisches Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Iodzahl von Fettsäure Methylestern, nachfolgend FAME genannt, fest.
Die Präzisionsangabe dieses Prüfverfahrens wurde in einem Ringversuch mit Iodzahlen im Bereich 111 g Iod/100 g bis 129 g Iod/100 g bestimmt.
Dieses Prüfverfahren gilt auch für niedrigere Iodzahlen, die Präzisionsangabe wird jedoch nicht für Iodzahlen unter 111 g Iod/100 g festgelegt.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode titrimétrique de détermination de l’indice d’iode des esters méthyliques d’acides gras, ci-après appelés EMAG.
Les mesures de fidélité de la présente méthode d’essai ont été déterminées lors d’un essai interlaboratoires avec des indices d’iode compris entre 111 g d’iode/100 g et 129 g d’iode/100 g.
La méthode d’essai s’applique également à des indices d’iode plus faibles ; cependant, les mesures de fidélité ne sont pas établies pour des indices d’iode inférieurs à 111 g d’iode/100 g.

Ta dokument določa titrimetrijsko metodo za ugotavljanje jodnega števila v metilnih estrih maščobnih kislin (v nadaljevanju: FAME).
Izjava o natančnosti te preskusne metode je bila določena z medlaboratorijsko vajo z jodnimi števili v razponu od 111 g joda/100 g do 129 g joda/100 g.
Preskusna metoda se lahko uporablja tudi za nižje vrednosti joda, vendar izjava o natančnosti ni določena za jodna števila pod 111 g joda/100 g.

This document (EN 14111:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 307 “Oilseeds,
vegetable and animal fats and oils and their by-products - Methods of sampling and analysis”, the
secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by December 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 14111:2003.
In comparison with the previous edition, the following technical modifications have been made:
