This standard defines the rack and panel rear mounted plug 2 and 4 modules, series 3 used in the family of rectangular electrical connectors. The receptacles corresponding to those plugs are defined in EN 4165-002.
The protective covers corresponding to those plugs are defined in EN 4165-019.

Diese Europäische Norm legt freie, rückseitig montierte Einschub- und Gehäusesteckverbinder mit 2 bis 4 Modulen, Serie 3, fest, die in der Familie der elektrischen Rechtecksteckverbinder verwendet werden. Die diesen freien Steckverbindern entsprechenden festen Steckverbinder sind in EN 4165-002 festgelegt.
