Introduction
Appearance inspection is important for manufacturer, supplier, inspection organization and costumer
etc. to examine goods quality. Intending to describe footwear defects, i.e. those defects that have been
unintentionally introduced into the footwear, this document has been compiled as a reference to use
and establish a common language of defects vocabularies understandable to make the relative parties
to communicate easier, moreover, this TR including photos (showing the defects) which are supplement
materials to corresponding terms and definitions. This TR not only acts as the basis for assessing
footwear appearance defects but also act as a reference material and training material for footwear
industry.
