Corrosion protection of metals - Electrodeposited coatings of cadmium on iron or steel
This European Standard specifies requirements for electrodeposited coatings of cadmium on iron or steel with or without supplementary treatment. This European Standard does not specify chromate finishes which are required only for improving the adhesion of paints or varnishes. NOTE: This European Standard is not intended to be used alone, but is the complement of EN 1403. It is necessary for the purchaser to specify the cadmium electrodeposited coating in accordance with the designation as specified in EN 1403.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an galvanisch abgeschiedene Cadmium- überzüge auf Eisenwerkstoffen mit oder ohne zusätzlicher Behandlung fest. Diese Europäische Norm legt keine Chromatierüberzüge fest, die nur zur Verbesserung des Haftvermögens von Farben und Lacken bestimmt sind. ANMERKUNG: Diese Europäische Norm darf nicht für sich allein benutzt werden, denn sie ist die Ergänzung zu prEN 1403. Der Abnehmer muß den galvanisch abzuscheidenden Cadmiumüberzug gemäß der Bezeichnung bestellen, die in EN 1403 festgelegt ist.

La présente norme européenne spécifie les exigences concernant les dépôts électrolytiques de cadmium sur fer ou acier avec ou sans traitement complémentaire. La présente norme européenne ne spécifie pas les finitions chromatées nécessaires uniquement pour améliorer l'adhésion des peintures et vernis. NOTE: La présente norme européenne n'est pas destinée a etre utilisée a part, il s'agit d'un complément a l'EN 1403. Avertissement: l'utilisation de cadmium étant soumise aux législations relatives a la santé, a la sécurité et a l'environnement aux niveaux européen et national, il convient de les consulter.
