This document reviews methods for measuring the thickness of metallic and other inorganic coatings on both metallic and non-metallic substrates (see Tables 1, A.1 and A.2). It is limited to tests already specified, or to be specified, in International Standards and excludes certain tests that are used for special applications.

Dieses Dokument enthält eine Übersicht über Verfahren zur Messung der Dicke metallischer und anderer anorganischer Schichten auf metallischen und nichtmetallischen Grundwerkstoffen (siehe Tabelle 1, Tabelle A.1 und Tabelle A.2). Es beschränkt sich auf in Internationalen Normen bereits erfasste oder noch zu erfassende Verfahren; ausgeschlossen werden Verfahren, die für besondere Anwendungen vorgesehen sind.

This document (EN ISO 3882:2024) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 107 "Metallic
and other inorganic coatings" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 262 “Metallic and
other inorganic coatings, including for corrosion protection and corrosion testing of metals and alloys”
the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2024, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by July 2024.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 3882:2003.
