This part of IEC 61300 describes a procedure to determine the suitability of a fibre optic device to withstand the effects of a change of temperature or a succession of changes of temperature.

La présente partie de la CEI 61300 a pour objet de décrire une procédure destinée à déterminer l'aptitude d'un dispositif à fibres optiques à résister aux effets d'une variation de température ou d'une succession de variations de température. La première édition spécifie les essais Na et Nb de la
CEI 60068-2-14, cette édition décrit la procédure des essais Nb et spécifie un " cycle facultatif " pour quelques autres catégories de performance.

Foreword
The text of document 86B/2440/FDIS, future edition 2 of IEC 61300-2-22, prepared by SC 86B, Fibre
optic interconnecting devices and passive components, of IEC TC 86, Fibre optics, was submitted to the
IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61300-2-22 on 2007-04-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 61300-2-22:1997.
EN 61300-2-22:1997 specifies tests Na and Nb of EN 60068-2-14, however this EN 61300-2-22:2007
describes the test method of Nb and specifies “optional cycle” for some other performance categories.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
(dop) 2008-01-01
national standard or by endorsement
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2010-04-01
Annexes ZA and ZB have been added by CENELEC.
