This European Standard specifies an accelerated ageing/conditioning procedure for bituminous binders. The procedure involves ageing trays of binder at elevated temperatures under pressurised conditions in a pressure ageing vessel (PAV).

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Konditionierungsverfahren mit beschleunigter Alterung/Konditionierung für bitumenhaltige Bindemittel fest. Das Verfahren beschreibt die Alterung von Bindemitteln in Schalen bei erhöhten Temperaturen in einem Druckalterungsbehälter (PAV, en: pressure ageing vessel) unter Überdruck-Bedingungen.
ANMERKUNG Bei Bindemitteln, die für Heißasphaltanwendungen vorgesehen sind, würde die Vorbehandlung der Probe üblicherweise nach einem der in EN 12607 festgelegten Verfahren erfolgen. Bei Bindemitteln, die in Anwendungen mit Bitumenemulsionen und verschnittenen oder gefluxten Bitumen verwendet werden sollen, sollte die Stabilisierung der Probe so erfolgen, dass keine flüchtigen Bestandteile zurückbleiben.
WARNUNG - Die Anwendung dieser Europäischen Norm kann den Umgang mit gefährlichen Substanzen und Aus¬rüstungsteilen - speziell die Verwendung eines Hochdruckalterungsbehälters - und die Ausführung gefährlicher Arbeitsgänge einschließen. Diese Europäische Norm erhebt nicht den Anspruch, alle mit ihrer Anwen¬dung verbundenen Sicherheitsprobleme anzusprechen. Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Anwenders dieser Europäischen Norm, geeignete Verhaltensregeln für den Arbeits- und Gesundheitsschutz festzulegen und vor der Anwendung zu klären, ob einschränkende Vorschriften zu berücksichtigen sind. Ist es wahrscheinlich, dass flüchtige Bestandteile in einem Bindemittel vorhanden sind, darf dieses Verfahren nicht angewendet werden.

La présente Norme européenne décrit une méthode de vieillissement/conditionnement accéléré des liants bitumineux. La méthode repose sur le vieillissement sous pression de plateaux de liant à des températures élevées dans un récipient de vieillissement sous pression (PAV).
NOTE Pour les liants destinés à être utilisés dans des applications d'asphalte à chaud, le pré-conditionnement de l’échantillon sera typiquement effectué selon une des méthodes de la série des EN 12607. Pour les liants destinés à être utilisés dans des émulsions bitumineuses et des applications de liants fluidifiés ou fluxés, la stabilisation de l’échantillon devrait être telle que plus aucun composé volatil ne soit présent.

Si des composés volatils sont suspectés être présents dans le liant, cette procédure ne doit pas être utilisée.

Ta evropski standard določa postopek pospešenega staranja in pogoje za bitumenska veziva. Postopek zajema staranje vložkov veziva pri zvišanih temperaturah v tlačnih pogojih v tlačnih posodi (PAV).
