Steel cord conveyor belts - Methods for the determination of total thickness and cover thickness (ISO 7590:2009)
Will specify three methods of measuring the total thickness and the cover thickness of steel cord conveyor belts. Two methods (micrometer methods) can be used for all steel cord conveyor belts for measurement of both total thickness and cover thickness. The
third method (optical method) is recommended for the measurement of cover thickness only. It is not suitable if there is a textile or metal weft , or if the ends of the steel cords become twisted when cut.
Stahlseil-Födergurte - Messung der Gesamtdicke und der Deckplattendicke (ISO 7590:2009)
Diese Internationale Norm legt drei Verfahren zur Messung der Gesamtdicke und der Deckplattendicke von Stahlseil Fördergurten fest.
Die Verfahren A1 und A2 (Verfahren mit Bügelmessschraube) können für alle Stahlseil Fördergurte sowohl zur Messung der Gesamtdicke der Gurte als auch der Deckplattendicke angewendet werden.
Verfahren B (optisches Verfahren) wird nur zur Messung der Deckplattendicke empfohlen. Es ist nicht geeig¬net, wenn ein textiler oder metallischer Schuss (Querlage) vorhanden ist oder wenn die Stahlseilenden beim Schneiden verdreht werden.

L'ISO 7590:2009 spécifie trois méthodes de mesurage de l'épaisseur totale des courroies et de l'épaisseur des revêtements de courroies transporteuses à câbles d'acier.
Les méthodes A1 et A2 (méthode du micromètre) peuvent être utilisées pour toutes les courroies transporteuses à câbles d'acier, pour le mesurage de l'épaisseur totale des courroies et de l'épaisseur du revêtement.
La méthode B (méthode optique) est recommandée uniquement pour le mesurage de l'épaisseur du revêtement. Elle n'est pas appropriée pour les courroies à trame textile ou métallique, ni si les extrémités des câbles d'acier s'entortillent après découpage.

This document (EN ISO 7590:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and
belts (including veebelts)" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 188 “Conveyor belts” the
secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by July 2009.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
