ISO 26443:2008 specifies a method for the qualitative evaluation of the adhesion of ceramic coatings up to 20 µm thick by indentation with a Rockwell diamond indenter. The formation of cracks after indentation may also reveal cohesive failure. The indentations are made with a Rockwell hardness test instrument.
The method described may also be suitable for evaluating the adhesion of metallic coatings.
The test is not suitable for elastic coatings on hard substrates.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur qualitativen Bewertung der Haftung keramischer SchichtenN1) mit einer Dicke von bis zu 20 µm fest, bei dem mit einem für die Rockwell-Härteprüfung verwendeten Diamant-Eindringkörper ein EindruckN1) erzeugt wird. Die Bildung von Rissen am Eindruck kann auch ein Kohäsionsversagen erkennen lassen. Die Eindrücke werden mit einem Rockwell-Härte¬prüf-gerät erzeugt.
Das in dieser Internationalen Norm beschriebene Verfahren kann auch zur Bewertung der Haftung metal-lischer Schichten geeignet sein.
Diese Prüfung ist für elastische SchichtenN1) auf harten Grundwerkstoffen nicht geeignet.

L'ISO 26443:2008 spécifie une méthode permettant l'évaluation qualitative de l'adhérence de revêtements céramiques jusqu'à 20 µm d'épaisseur par indentation à l'aide d'un pénétrateur diamanté de Rockwell. La formation de fissures après l'indentation peut également révéler une rupture cohésive. Les indentations sont réalisées à l'aide d'un instrument d'essai de dureté Rockwell.
La méthode décrite dans la présente Norme internationale peut également être adaptée à l'évaluation de l'adhérence de revêtements métalliques.
L'essai n'est pas adapté aux revêtements élastiques sur des substrats durs.

Nastanek razpok po vtiskanju lahko razkriva tudi kohezivno napako. Vtiskanje se izvede z Rockwellovim instrumentom za preskušanje trdote. Metoda, opisana v tem mednarodnem standardu, je lahko primerna tudi za ocenjevanje adhezije kovinskih prevlek. Preskus ni primeren za elastične prevleke na trdih substratih.

The text of ISO 26443:2008 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 206 “Fine ceramics” of
the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 26443:2016
by Technical Committee CEN/TC 184 “Advanced technical ceramics” the secretariat of which is held by
DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2016, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2016.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
