Packaging - Complete, filled transport packages and unit loads - Low pressure test (ISO 2873:2000)

This International Standard specifies a method for subjecting complete, filled transport packages and unit loads to
conditions of low air pressure similar to those encountered in aircraft.
This method is applicable to complete, filled transport packages and unit loads which are intended to be transported
in pressurized aircraft flying at any altitude and in unpressurized aircraft flying at 3 500 m or less.

In dieser Internationalen Norm wird ein Verfahren für die Prüfung versandfertiger Packstücke und Ladeeinheiten
unter den Bedingungen festgelegt, die bei niedrigem Luftdruck, z. B. in Flugzeugen, anzutreffen sind.
Dieses Verfahren ist auf versandfertige Packstücke und Ladeeinheiten anzuwenden, die für den Transport in
druckausgeglichenen Flugzeugen vorgesehen sind, die in einer beliebigen Höhe fliegen und in nicht druckaus-
geglichenen Flugzeugen, die in Höhen bis zu 3 500 m fliegen.

La présente Norme internationale spécifie une méthode d'essai pour soumettre des emballages d'expédition
complets et pleins ainsi que des charges unitaires aux conditions de basse pression semblables à celles des
avions.
Cette méthode est applicable aux emballages d'expédition complets et pleins et aux charges unitaires transportés
dans des avions pressurisés, quelle que soit leur altitude de vol, ainsi que dans des avions non pressurisés volant
à 3 500 m ou moins.

Foreword
The text of the International Standard from Technical Committee ISO/TC 122 "Packaging" of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has been taken over as a European
Standard by Technical Committee CEN/TC 261 "Packaging", the secretariat of which is held by
AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2003, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by March 2003.
This document supersedes EN 22873:1992.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech
Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg,
