This document specifies the required characteristics for fluoroelastomeric, heat-shrinkable boots for use in aircraft electrical systems at operating temperatures between −55 °C and 200 °C.
The moulded shapes can be supplied with a pre-coated adhesive. Refer to the manufacturers/suppliers for options. A guide to adhesive compatibility is given in Annex A.
These moulded shapes are normally supplied in the styles and dimensions given in EN 4840 002. The colour is normally black.
Styles and dimensions other than those specifically listed in EN 4840 002 can be available as custom items. These items are considered to comply with this document if they comply with the property requirements listed in Table 1 with the exception of dimensions.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an wärmeschrumpfende Fluorelastomer-Bauteile zur Verwendung in elektrischen Bordnetzen von Luftfahrzeugen bei Betriebstemperaturen zwischen −55 °C und 200 °C fest.
Die Formteile können mit Klebstoff beschichtet geliefert angeboten werden. Varianten siehe Hersteller/Lieferanten. Eine Anleitung hinsichtlich der Kompatibilität des Klebstoffs ist in Anhang A angegeben.
Diese Formteile werden üblicherweise in den in EN 4840 002 angegebenen Ausführungen und Maßen angeboten. Die Farbe ist üblicherweise schwarz.
Andere Ausführungen und Maße als die speziell in EN 4840 002 aufgeführten können nach Kundenwünschen angeboten werden. Diese Bauteile werden dahingehend angesehen, dass sie dieses Dokument erfüllen, wenn sie mit Ausnahme der Maße die in den Tabelle 1 aufgeführten Anforderungen an die Merkmale erfüllen.

Le présent document spécifie les caractéristiques requises pour les soufflets de manchons
thermorétractables en fluoroélastomère destinés à une utilisation dans les systèmes électriques des
aéronefs à des températures de fonctionnement comprises entre –55 °C et 200 °C.
Les manchons peuvent être fournis avec un adhésif préenduit. Pour connaître les options disponibles,
s’adresser aux fabricants/fournisseurs. L’Annexe A comporte un guide de la compatibilité des adhésifs.
Ces manchons sont normalement fournis dans les styles et les dimensions indiqués dans l’EN 4840-002.
La couleur est habituellement le noir.
Des styles et dimensions autres que ceux listés dans l’EN 4840-002 peuvent être disponibles en tant
qu’articles personnalisés. Ces articles sont considérés comme conformes au présent document s’ils
répondent aux exigences de propriétés présentées dans le Tableau 1, exception faite des dimensions.

1 Scope
This document specifies the required characteristics for fluoroelastomeric, heat-shrinkable boots for
use in aircraft electrical systems at operating temperatures between −55 °C and 200 °C.
