Sanitary appliances - Baths made from impact modified coextruded ABS/acrylic sheets - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies requirements for baths for domestic purposes made from impact modified coextruded ABS/acrylic sheets conforming to EN 13559 with the aim of ensuring that the product, when installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, will provide satisfactory performance in use.
This European Standard is applicable to all sizes and shapes of baths.

La présente Norme européenne est applicable à toutes les dimensions et formes de baignoires.

• Dimensional & geometric tolerances: Overall dimensions may deviate by no more than ±5 mm; squaring, rim straightness and rim flatness deviations are limited to ≤ 5 mm when tested per Annex A.2.
• Drainage: With waste outlet open and installed per instructions, the bath bottom must empty (except for surface tension).
• Mechanical & thermal resistance: Resistance to temperature changes (Annex A.3) must show no distortion and deflection ≤ 4 mm. Impact resistance (Annex A.4) must not produce defects that impair function/appearance.
• Deflection limits: Permitted deflections under load are specified in Table 1 and verified by the deflection tests in Annex A.5.
• Test methods: Annex A provides detailed procedures for geometric checks, temperature cycling, impact, deflection, handgrip and scratch resistance tests.
