Lubricated metal-powder mixes - Determination of lubricant content - Modified Soxhlet extraction method (ISO 13944:1996)

Method for the determination of the lubricant content of a powder mix. The method is also suitable for measuring the content of elements such as graphite and oxygen, the determination of which is interfered with the presence of a lubricant.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Gleitmittelanteils in einer Pulvermischung fest. Diese Norm kann auch zur Ermittlung von Bestandteilen angewendet werden, wie z. B. Graphit und Sauerstoff, deren Bestimmung durch das Vorhandensein eines Gleitmittels erschwert wird.
Eine Voraussetzung für die Anwendung dieses Verfahrens ist, dass ein geeignetes Lösemittel für das betreffende Gleitmittel bekannt und verfügbar ist.

The text of ISO 13944:1996 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 119 "Powder
metallurgy” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over
as EN ISO 13944:2006 by Technical Committee CEN/SS M11 "Powder metallurgy", the
secretariat of which is held by CMC.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2006, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by October 2006.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,
