This document gives requirements and guidance for the assessment of conformity of materials, products, joints and assemblies in accordance with EN 1519 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of third-party certification procedures.
NOTE 1 It is recommended that the quality management system conforms to or is no less stringent than the relevant requirements to EN ISO 9001 [1].
NOTE 2 If certification is involved, it is recommended that the certification body is compliant with either EN ISO/IEC 17065 [2] or EN ISO/IEC 17021-series [4], as applicable.
NOTE 3 A basic test matrix providing an overview of the testing scheme is given in Annex A.
In conjunction with EN 1519-1 this document is applicable to piping systems made of polyethylene (PE) intended to be used:
- for soil and waste discharge systems (low and high temperature) inside buildings (application area code "B") and
- for soil and waste discharge systems (low and high temperature) for both inside buildings and buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "BD").
This is reflected in the marking of products by "B" or "BD".

Dieses Dokument enthält Anforderungen und Empfehlungen für die Beurteilung der Konformität von Werkstoffen, Erzeugnissen, Verbindungen und Bauteilkombinationen nach EN 1519, die als Teil des Qualitätsmanagementsystems im Qualitätssicherungsplan des Herstellers und für die Einführung von Verfahren der Drittstellenzertifizierung vorgesehen sind.
ANMERKUNG 1 Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass das Qualitätsmanagementsystem EN ISO 9001 [1] oder mindestens ebenso strengen Anforderungen entspricht.
ANMERKUNG 2 Bei einer Zertifizierung wird davon ausgegangen, dass die Zertifizierungsstelle in Abhängigkeit von der Anwendung nach EN ISO/IEC 17065 [2] oder EN ISO/IEC 17021 [3] zugelassen ist.
ANMERKUNG 3 Anhang A enthält einen grundlegenden Überblick über das Prüfsystem.
Dieses Dokument gilt in Verbindung mit EN 1519 1 für Rohrleitungssysteme aus Polyethylen (PE), die für folgende Verwendungszwecke vorgesehen sind:
— zum Ableiten von Abwasser (niedriger und hoher Temperatur) innerhalb von Gebäuden (Anwendungs¬kennzeichen „B“); und
— zum Ableiten von Abwasser (niedriger und hoher Temperatur) sowohl innerhalb von Gebäuden als auch erdverlegt innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen „BD“).
Dies wird durch die Kennzeichnung auf dem Erzeugnis durch „B“ bzw. „BD“ angezeigt.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 24 May 2020 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

This document (CEN/TS 1519-2:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155
“Plastics piping systems and ducting systems”, the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

This document supersedes CEN/TS 1519-2:2012.
There are only minor updates in this new edition.
EN 1519 consists of the following parts, under the general title Plastics piping systems for soil and waste
discharge (low and high temperature) within the building structure — Polyethylene (PE)
— Part 1: Specifications for pipes, fittings and the system;
— Part 2: Guidance for the assessment of conformity (the present TS).

Introduction
Figures 1 and 2 are intended to provide general information on the concept of testing and organization
of those tests used for the purpose of the assessment of conformity. For each type of test, i.e. type
testing (TT), batch release test (BRT), process verification test (PVT), and audit test (AT), this document
details the applicable characteristics to be assessed as well as the frequency and sampling of testing.
A typical scheme for the assessment of conformity of materials, pipes, fittings, joints or assemblies by
manufacturers is given in Figure 1.

1 Scope
This document gives requirements and guidance for the assessment of conformity of materials,
products, joints and assemblies in accordance with EN 1519 intended to be included in the
manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of
third-party certification procedures.
NOTE 1 The quality management system is expected to conform to or is no less stringent than the relevant
requirements to EN ISO 9001 [1].
NOTE 2 If certification is involved, the certification body is expected be accredited to EN ISO/IEC 17065 [2] or
EN ISO/IEC 17021 [3], as applicable.
