This European Standard specifies the requirement for expanded perlite products which are used for in-situ thermal insulation of building equipment and industrial installations with an operating temperature in the range of approximately – 270 ºC to + 650 ºC.
This European Standard specifies the requirements for the four types of expanded perlite products, Perlite Aggregate (EPA), Coated Perlite (EPC), Hydrophobic Perlite (EPH) and Premixed Perlite (EPM), containing less than 1 % by mass organic material as determined by Annex C in EN 15599-1:2010.
This European Standard is a specification for the installed products.
This European Standard also specifies the checks and test procedures to be used for the declaration made by the installer of the product.
This European Standard does not specify the required level of all properties to be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The required levels are to be found in regulations or non-conflicting standards.
This European Standard does not include factory made insulation products of formed shapes and boards made with expanded perlite.
The products covered by this European Standard are not intended to be used primarily for airborne sound insulation or sound absorption applications although they may improve the performance of the installation in these respects when installed for their primary insulation intended use.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an Produkte aus expandiertem Perlit fest, die als an der Verwendungsstelle hergestellte Wärmedämmstoffe für die Haustechnik und betriebstechnische Anlagen im Betriebstemperaturbereich von etwa 270 °C bis 650 °C eingesetzt werden.
Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an die vier Produktarten von expandiertem Perlit fest, d. h. Perlitkörner (en: Perlite Aggregate, EPA), beschichtetes Perlit (en: Coated Perlite, EPC), wasserabstoßendes Perlit (en: Hydrophobic Perlite, EPH) und vorgemischtes Perlit (en: Premixed Perlite, EPM), deren nach Anhang C von EN 15599 1 bestimmter Massenanteil an organischen Stoffen weniger als 1 % beträgt.
Diese Europäische Norm ist eine Spezifikation für die eingebauten Produkte.
Diese Europäische Norm legt auch die Überprüfungen und Prüfverfahren fest, die für die vom Installateur für das Produkt abzugebende Erklärung anzuwenden sind.
Diese Europäische Norm legt keine Anforderungsstufen für die Eigenschaften fest, die ein Produkt erreichen muss, um für einen bestimmten Anwendungszweck gebrauchstauglich zu sein. Die erforderlichen Stufen sind Vorschriften oder nicht entgegenstehenden Normen zu entnehmen.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für werkmäßig hergestellte Dämmstoffe in vorgefertigten Formen und Platten aus expandiertem Perlit.
Die durch diese Europäische Norm abgedeckten Produkte sind nicht vorwiegend für den Einsatz bei der Luftschalldämmung und Schallabsorption vorgesehen, obwohl sie die Leistung der Anlage auch in dieser Hinsicht verbessern können, wenn sie mit dem vorgesehenen Haupt¬verwen¬dungszweck der Dämmung eingebaut werden.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives aux produits de perlite expansée, utilisés pour l’isolation thermique en place dans le bâtiment et les installations industrielles à une température de fonctionnement comprise entre 270 °C et 650 °C environ.
La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives à quatre types de produits de perlite expansée : granulats de perlite (EPA), perlite enrobée (EPC), perlite hydrophobe (EPH) et perlite prémélangée (EPM), contenant moins de 1 % en masse de matériaux organiques, déterminé par l'Annexe C dans l’EN 15599-1:2010.
La présente Norme européenne est une spécification destinée aux produits installés.
La présente Norme européenne spécifie également les contrôles et les modes opératoires d’essai à utiliser pour la déclaration faite par l’installateur du produit.
La présente Norme européenne ne spécifie pas le niveau requis de toutes les propriétés nécessaires pour qu’un produit démontre son aptitude à l’emploi dans une application particulière. Il est possible d’obtenir les niveaux requis dans des réglementations ou dans des normes non-divergentes.
La présente Norme européenne n’inclut pas les produits d’isolation formés fabriqués en usine ni les panneaux à base de perlite expansée.
Les produits traités par la présente Norme européenne ne sont pas, à l’origine, destinés à être utilisés pour l’isolation aux bruits aériens ou pour des applications d’absorption du son même s'ils peuvent améliorer les performances de l'installation en ce sens, lorsqu'ils sont installés pour l’isolation dans les conditions d’utilisation prévues à l'origine.
