Testing fresh concrete - Part 2: Slump-test
This European standard specifies a method for determining the consistence of fresh concrete by the slump
test.
The slump test is sensitive to changes in the consistence of concrete, which correspond to slumps between
10 mm and 200 mm. Beyond these extremes the measurement of slump can be unsuitable and other
methods of determining the consistency should be considered.
If the slump continues to change over a period of 1 min after de-moulding, the slump test is not suitable as a
measure of consistence.
The test is not suitable when the maximum size of aggregate in the concrete is greater than 40 mm.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Setzmaßes von Frischbeton fest.
Der Setzversuch ist geeignet für Änderungen der Konsistenz von Beton, die einem Setzmaß zwischen 10 mm und 210 mm entsprechen. Über diese Werte hinaus kann die Messung des Setzmaßes ungeeignet sein, und es sollten andere Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Konsistenz angewendet werden.
Wenn sich das Setzmaß innerhalb von 1 min nach dem Entformen weiter ändert, ist diese Prüfung für die Konsistenzbestimmung nicht geeignet.
Die Norm ist nicht anwendbar, wenn das Größtkorn der Gesteinskörnung mehr als 40 mm beträgt.
Essais pour béton frais - Partie 2: Essai d'affaissement
La présente Norme européenne spécifie une méthode de détermination de la consistance du béton frais par
l’essai d’affaissement.
L’essai d’affaissement est sensible aux modifications de la consistance du béton correspondant à des
affaissements compris entre 10 mm et 210 mm. En dehors de ces limites, la mesure de l’affaissement peut
être inadaptée et il convient d’envisager d’autres méthodes de détermination de la consistance.
Si l’affaissement évolue au-delà de la minute suivant le démoulage, cet essai n’est pas adapté à la mesure de
la consistance.
Cet essai ne s’applique pas si la dimension maximale du granulat est supérieure à 40 mm.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2009. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. This document supersedes EN 12350-2:1999.
