Geographic information - Procedures for item registration (ISO 19135:2005)

ISO 19135:2005 specifies procedures to be followed in establishing, maintaining and publishing registers of unique, unambiguous and permanent identifiers, and meanings that are assigned to items of geographic information. In order to accomplish this purpose, ISO 19135:2005 specifies elements of information that are necessary to provide identification and meaning to the registered items and to manage the registration of these items.

Afin d'atteindre cet objectif, la présente Norme internationale spécifie les éléments d'information qui sont nécessaires pour conférer l'identification et la signification aux items enregistrés et pour gérer l'enregistrement de ces items.

This European Standard was approved by CEN on 25 February 2007.

Foreword



The text of ISO 19135:2005 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 211
"Geographic information/Geomatics” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
and has been taken over as EN ISO 19135:2007 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 287
"Geographic Information", the secretariat of which is held by NEN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2007, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2007.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway,
Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United
Kingdom.


Endorsement notice
