EN ISO 18332:2008

Metallic and other inorganic coatings - Definitions and conventions concerning porosity (ISO 18332:2007)

ISO 18332:2007 defines porosity and its associated terms, and outlines the principles involved in porosity testing of metallic and related inorganic coatings. The purpose of porosity testing is also considered, thereby assisting the user to select the most suitable test for the product and its service application.
The porosity test cannot be used to establish corrosion-performance standards.

Diese Internationale Norm legt die Porigkeit und die zugehörigen Begriffe fest sowie die Grundlagen, die sich
auf die Porenprüfung von metallischen Überzügen und verwandten anorganischen Schichten beziehen.
Ferner wird auf den Zweck der Porenprüfung eingegangen, der darin besteht, den Anwender bei der Auswahl
der für das jeweilige Produkt und seine Anwendung geeignetsten Prüfung zu unterstützen.
Die Porenprüfung kann nicht als Ersatz für Korrosionsprüfnormen eingesetzt werden.

L'ISO 18332:2007 définit la porosité et les termes qui y sont associés; elle présente les principes régissant les essais de porosité des revêtements métalliques et autres revêtements inorganiques. Elle prend également en compte l'objectif de l'essai de porosité, fournissant ainsi à l'utilisateur une aide dans le choix de l'essai le plus adapté au produit et à son application en service.
L'essai de porosité ne peut être utilisé pour l'établissement de normes de performance en matière de corrosion.

The text of ISO 18332:2007 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 107 "Metallic and other inorganic coatings” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 18332:2008 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 262 "Metallic and other inorganic coatings", the secretariat of which is held by BSI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by July 2008. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. This document supersedes EN 13143:2003.
