This document specifies requirements for and gives recommendations on the design, installation, alteration, testing, maintenance and operation of installations inside buildings conveying water intended for human consumption (hereafter referred to as potable water installations) within buildings and, for certain purposes, pipework outside buildings but within the premises (see Figure 1).
It covers the system of pipelines, fittings and connected appliances installed for supplying potable water from the delivery point to the point of use.

Dieses Dokument beschreibt die Anforderungen und gibt Empfehlungen für die Planung, Installation, Änderung, Prüfung, Instandhaltung und den Betrieb von Installationen innerhalb von Gebäuden, die Wasser für den menschlichen Gebrauch transportieren (im Folgenden als Trinkwasserinstallationen bezeichnet) innerhalb von Gebäuden und für bestimmte Anwendungen von Rohrleitungsanlagen außerhalb von Gebäuden, aber innerhalb des Grundstücks (siehe Bild 1).
Es umfasst die Rohrleitungen, Anschlussstücke und angeschlossenen Geräte, die zur Versorgung mit Trinkwasser installiert werden, von der Übergabestelle bis zur Stelle der Nutzung.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences et donne des recommandations relatives à la conception, à l’installation, à la modification, aux essais, à la maintenance et à l’exploitation des installations pour l’eau destinée à la consommation humaine (ci-après dénommées « installations d’eau potable ») à l’intérieur des bâtiments, incluant, dans certains cas, les canalisations à l’extérieur des bâtiments, dans les limites de propriété (voir la Figure 1).
Il couvre les canalisations, les raccords, les accessoires de tuyauterie et les appareils raccordés installés pour l’alimentation en eau potable, du point de livraison au point d’utilisation.

1 Scope
This document specifies requirements for and gives recommendations on the design, installation,
alteration, testing, maintenance and operation of installations inside buildings conveying water intended
for human consumption (hereafter referred to as potable water installations) within buildings and, for
certain purposes, pipework outside buildings but within the premises (see Figure 1).
It covers the system of pipelines, fittings and connected appliances installed for supplying potable water
from the delivery point to the point of use.
