This document gives guidance and requirements for the assessment of conformity of materials, products, joints and assemblies in accordance with the applicable part(s) of EN 13476 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of certification procedures.
NOTE 1   A test matrix provides an overview of the testing scheme in Annex A, Table A.1.
NOTE 2   If certification is involved, the certification body operating in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17065 [1] and EN ISO/IEC 17020 [2] is considered to be competent.
In conjunction with FprEN 13476-1:2025, FprEN 13476-2:2025 and FprEN 13476-3:2025 this document is applicable to Plastics piping systems for non-pressure underground drains and sewers — Structural-wall piping systems of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE).
The application area code used in the marking of pipes and fittings indicates for which application area(s) the products are intended:
U: for the area more than 1 m from the building to which the buried piping system is connected, and
UD: for application area U and the area under and within 1 m from the building where the pipes and the
fittings are buried in ground and are connected to the soil and waste discharge system of the building.

Dieses Dokument enthält die Anforderungen und Empfehlungen für die Beurteilung der Konformität von Werkstoffen, Erzeugnissen, Verbindungen und Bauteilkombinationen entsprechend des/der zutreffenden Teile(s) von EN 13476, die als Teil des Qualitätsmanagementsystems im Qualitätssicherungsplan des Herstellers und für die Einführung von Zertifizierungsverfahren vorgesehen sind.
ANMERKUNG 1   In Anhang A, Tabelle A.1 ist eine Prüfmatrix enthalten, die einen Überblick über das Prüfsystem bietet.

European foreword
This document (FprCEN/TS 13476-4:2025) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155
“Plastics piping systems and ducting systems”, the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This document is currently submitted to the Vote on TS.
This document will supersede CEN/TS 13476-4:2019.
This document includes the following significant technical changes with respect to
CEN/TS 13476-4:2019:
a) updating of the ”terms” and “definitions” in line with EN 14541-1;
b) “drainage and sewerage” changed into “drains and sewers” through the document.;
c) updated in line with material clauses and annexes prEN series;
d) updated in line with detected and solved mistakes in prEN series;
e) Table A.1 updated;
f) editorial updates through the document.
EN 13476 consists of the following parts, under the general title ” Plastics piping systems for non-pressure
underground drains and sewers — Structured-wall piping systems of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride)
(PVC-U), polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE)”:
— Part 1: General requirements and performance characteristics;
— Part 2: Specifications for pipes and fittings with smooth internal and external surface and the system,
Type A;
— Part 3: Specifications for pipes and fittings with smooth internal and profiled external surface and
the system, Type B;
— Part 4: Guidance for the assessment of conformity (this document).

Introduction
This document details the applicable characteristics to be assessed for type testing (TT), batch release
test (BRT), process verification test (PVT), and audit test (AT), as well as the frequency and sampling for
testing.
The concept of testing and organization of those tests used for the AoC is shown, without or with
certification, in Figures 1 and 2.

1 Scope
