Paints and varnishes - Determination of solvents in water-thinnable coating materials - Gas-chromatographic method (ISO 22518:2019)

This document specifies a method for the gas-chromatographic determination of the solvents in water-thinnable paints and varnishes, binder solutions, emulsions and dispersions.
With the precision stated in Clause 13, single components above 0,02 % (mass fraction) can be determined quantitatively.
The method defined in this document is not applicable for the determination of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOC) content.
NOTE       For the determination of VOC and SVOC, see ISO 11890‑2[2].

Beschichtungsstoffe - Bestimmung von Lösemitteln in wasserverdünnbaren Beschichtungsstoffen - Gaschromatographisches Verfahren (ISO 22518:2019)

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur gaschromatographischen Bestimmung von Lösemitteln in wasserverdünnbaren Beschichtungsstoffen, Bindemittellösungen, Emulsionen und Dispersionen fest.
Mit der im Abschnitt 13 angegebenen Präzision lassen sich Einzelkomponenten oberhalb von 0,02 % (Massenanteil) quantitativ bestimmen.
Das in diesem Dokument festgelegte Verfahren ist nicht für die Bestimmung des Gehaltes an flüchtigen organischen Verbindungen (VOC, en: volatile organic compound) und halbflüchtigen organischen Verbindungen (SVOC, en: semi-volatile organic compound) anwendbar.
ANMERKUNG Für die Bestimmung von VOC und SVOC siehe ISO 11890 2 [2].

Peintures et vernis - Détermination des solvants dans des peintures diluable à l'eau - Méthode par chromatographie en phase gazeuse (ISO 22518:2019)

Le présent document spécifie une méthode de détermination par chromatographie en phase gazeuse des solvants présents dans les solutions de liant, les émulsions, les dispersions, ainsi que les peintures et vernis diluables à l'eau.
Avec la fidélité indiquée à l'Article 13, il est possible de déterminer de manière quantitative les constituants d'une concentration supérieure à 0,02 % (en fraction massique).
La méthode définie dans le présent document ne s'applique pas à la mesure de la teneur en composés organiques volatils (COV) et en composés organiques semi‑volatils (COSV).
NOTE       Pour la quantification des COV et des COSV, voir l'ISO 11890‑2[2].

The text of ISO 22518:2018 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints and
varnishes” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as
EN ISO 22518:2020 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the secretariat of
which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2021, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2021.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
