This European Standard is applicable to gas-fired micro CHP appliances producing domestic hot water and electricity. The electricity is generated in a process linked to the production of useful heat.
It applies to a system marketed as single unit or a system fully specified by a manufacturer that have:
- a gas heat input not exceeding 70 kW;
- an electrical output not exceeding 50 kWe; and
- a hot water storage capacity not exceeding 500 litres.
This European Standard EN 13203 is formed in four parts which cover aspects of domestic hot water production.
Standard EN 13203-1 sets out in qualitative and quantitative terms the performance in delivery of domestic hot water for a selected variety of uses. It also gives a system for presenting the information to the user. This first part complements EN 26, EN 89 and EN 625.
Standard EN 13203-2 sets out a method for assessing the energy performance of the appliances. It defines a number of daily tapping cycles for each domestic hot water use, kitchen, shower, bath and a combination of these, together with corresponding test procedures, enabling the energy performances of different gas-fired appliances to be compared and matched to the needs of the user.
Standard EN 13203-3 deals with solar systems.
Note : a draft standard prEN 13203-5 for "Gas-fired domestic appliance producing hot water - Part 5 : Assessment of energy consumption of gas fired appliances combined with electrical heat pump not exceeding 70 kW heat input and 300 l water storage capacity" is also under preparation by CEN/TC109/WG4.
All standards and drafts series EN 13203 are worked out under Mandate M324 against Energy Labelling Directive 92/75/EC under revision.

Diese Europäische Norm ist anwendbar auf gasbefeuerte KWK-Geräte, die sanitäres Warmwasser für den Hausgebrauch und elektrische Energie bereitstellen. Die elektrische Energie wird in Verbindung mit Nutz-wärme erzeugt.
Sie ist anzuwenden auf Geräte, die als Einheit vermarktet werden oder für Systeme, die von einem Hersteller umfassend beschrieben sind und:
- eine Wärmebelastung von 70 kW nicht überschreiten,
- eine elektrische Leistung von 50 kWe nicht überschreiten und
- ein Warmwasserspeichervolumen von 500 l nicht überschreiten.
Diese Europäische Norm EN 13203 enthält vier Teile, die die Aspekte der sanitären Warmwasserbereitung für den Hausgebrauch abdecken.
EN 13203-1 legt mehrere quantitative und qualitative Niveaus für den Komfort von sanitärem Warmwasser für eine Auswahl von Benutzungsarten fest. Er enthält ebenfalls Hinweise zur entsprechenden Information des Betreibers. Dieser erste Teil vervollständigt EN 26, EN 89 und EN 625. EN 13203-2 legt eine Methode zur Bewertung des Energieverhaltens von Geräten fest. Sie definiert eine Anzahl täglicher Zapfprogramme für die häusliche Warmwasser-Verwendung in der Küche, zum Duschen und Baden und für Kombinationen dieser Verwendungsarten. Weiterhin legt sie die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren fest, mit denen das Energieverhalten unterschiedlicher Geräte verglichen und auf die Bedürfnisse des Betreibers ausgerichtet werden kann.
prEN 13203-3 legt eine Methode zur Bewertung des Energieverbrauchs eines solarunterstützten Gerätes fest, das Warmwasser für den sanitären Hausgebrauch bereitstellt.
Dieser Teil 4 legt eine Methode zur Bewertung des Energieverbrauchs einer gasbefeuerten KWK-Anlage fest.

La présente Norme européenne s’applique aux appareils micro-cogénération (micro CHP) de production d'eau chaude sanitaire et d’électricité utilisant les combustibles gazeux. L’électricité est produite par un procédé relatif à la production de chaleur.
Elle s’applique à la fois aux ensembles commercialisés comme une unité seule et aux ensembles entièrement spécifiés par le fabricant dont :
- le débit calorifique gaz est inférieur ou égal à 70 kW ;
- la puissance électrique est inférieure ou égale à 50 kWe ;
- la capacité de stockage en eau est inférieure ou égale à 500 litres.
La norme EN 13203 est composée de quatre parties qui couvrent les aspects de la production de l'eau chaude sanitaire.
La norme EN 13203-1 définit en termes qualitatifs et quantitatifs la performance en puisage d'eau chaude sanitaire pour une variété d’usages sélectionnée. Elle fournit également des informations destinées à l’utilisateur. Cette partie complète l’EN 26, l’EN 89 et l'EN 625.
La norme EN 13203-2 définit une méthode pour déterminer les performances énergétiques des appareils. Elle définit cinq cycles de puisage journaliers pour l’usage d'eau chaude sanitaire, cuisine, douche, bain, et une combinaison de ces derniers, ainsi que les modalités d'essais correspondants, afin de pouvoir établir une comparaison des performances énergétiques des appareils utilisant les combustibles gazeux selon les besoins de l’utilisateur.
Le PR EN 13203-3 traite de l'évaluation de la consommation énergétique des appareils à gaz de production d'eau chaude couplés à un système solaire.
La présente partie 4 définit une méthode d’évaluation de la consommation énergétique des appareils à gaz micro-cogénération (micro CHP).
