Durability of wood and wood-based products - Definition of use classes - Part 2: Application to solid wood

This part of EN 335 offers guidance on the application of the use classes, as defined in Part 1 to solid wood of EN 335, in relation to the biological agents that can attack solid wood and solid wood panels.
NOTE   Due to their specific behaviour against biological agents, solid wood panels are mentioned in this part and not in Part 3 of EN 335.
This Part shall be used in conjunction with Part 1 of EN 335.
Annex A gives information and guidance for the user to determine the appropriate use class and to select a suitable level of durability (either natural or conferred by preservative treatment). It does not give guidance on protective measures other than preservative treatment.

Dauerhaftigkeit von Holz und Holzprodukten - Definition der Gebrauchsklassen - Teil 2: Anwendung bei Vollholz

Dieser Teil von EN 335 gibt einen Leitfaden für die Anwendung der in Teil 1 von EN 335 festgelegten Ge-brauchsklassen
bei Vollholz in Bezug auf die Organismen, die Vollholz und Massivholzplatten befallen kön-nen.
ANMERKUNG Auf Grund ihres entsprechenden Verhaltens gegenüber den Organismen werden Massivholzplatten in
diesem Teil behandelt und nicht in Teil 3 von EN 335.
Dieser Teil sollte in Verbindung mit Teil 1 von EN 335 angewendet werden.
Anhang A enthält für den Benutzer Informationen und eine Anleitung zur Bestimmung der zutreffenden
Gebrauchsklasse und zur Auswahl eines geeigneten Grades der Dauerhaftigkeit (entweder natürlich oder
durch Schutzbehandlung erzielt). Er gibt keine Anleitung zu anderen Schutzmaßnahmen als die Behandlung
mit Holzschutzmitteln.

La présente partie de l’EN 335 donne des indications sur l’application au bois massif des classes d’emploi
définies dans la Partie 1 de l’EN 335, en fonction des agents biologiques qui peuvent attaquer le bois massif
et les bois panneautés.
NOTE Les bois panneautés sont mentionnés dans la présente partie de l’EN335 et non pas dans la partie 3 en
raison de leur comportement spécifique contre les agents biologiques
La présente partie doit être utilisée conjointement avec la Partie 1 de l’EN 335.
L’Annexe A fournit des informations et des indications permettant à l’utilisateur de déterminer la classe
d’emploi appropriée et de sélectionner un niveau approprié de durabilité (caractéristique naturelle ou conférée
par un traitement de préservation). Elle ne fournit aucune indication à propos des mesures de protection
autres que le traitement de préservation.

1 Scope This part of EN 335 offers guidance on the application to solid wood of the use classes, as defined in Part 1 of EN 335, in relation to the biological agents that can attack solid wood and solid wood panels.
