This document defines requirements for the fabrication, welding, examination and testing of new, metallic piping systems up to 69 000 kPa (ga) maximum, within temperature range limits for the materials meeting the requirements of ASME B31.3, on fixed and floating offshore production facilities and onshore production, processing and liquefaction plants.
This document is applicable to all pressure retaining components and any non-pressure retaining component, such as a pipe support, welded directly to a pressure retaining component.
This document is not applicable to:
- marine-related piping systems, e.g. ballasting piping systems, systems covered by classification societies;
- non-metallic piping systems.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Herstellung, den Einbau, das Schweißen, die Inspektion, die Überprüfung und die Prüfung von neuen, metallischen Rohrleitungssystemen innerhalb der Temperaturgrenzwerte für die Werkstoffe, die die Anforderungen nach ASME B31.3 erfüllen, auf festen und schwimmenden Offshore-Förderanlagen und Onshore-Förder-, Verarbeitungs- und Gasverflüssigungsanlagen fest. Für Rohrleitungssysteme oberhalb der Druckklasse 2500 sind zusätzlich zu den in dieser Norm angeführten Anforderungen die Anforderungen von ASME B31.3, Kapitel IX, zu erfüllen.
Dieses Dokument ist für alle Druck tragenden Bauteile und alle nicht Druck tragenden Bauteile anwendbar, wie z. B. ein Element einer Rohrabstützung, das direkt an ein Druck tragendes Bauteil geschweißt wird.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anwendbar auf Folgendes:
marine Rohrleitungssysteme, z. B. Ballast-Rohrleitungssysteme, Systeme, die von Klassifizierungsgesellschaften abgedeckt werden;
Steigrohre aus Metall, die für Unterwasser-Versorgungssysteme verwendet werden;
ANMERKUNG 1 Für das Schweißen und die Überprüfung dieser Bauteile kann auf ISO 13628 5 oder API Spec 17E verwiesen werden.
Rohrleitungssysteme mit korrosionsbeständiger Plattierung (entweder ganzheitlich plattiert oder mechanisch ausgekleidet) oder Schweißüberzug, einschließlich Puffern und zugehöriger Mischschweißnähte;
