Vesoljska tehnika - Sprejem obvestila CCSDS 232.1-B-2, postopek delovanja komunikacij-1
– v standardu višje ravni ECSS-E-ST-50 (Komunikacije), ki določa glavne značilnosti komunikacijskih protokolov in z njimi povezanih storitev za vse ravni komunikacije, pomembne za vesoljsko komunikacijo (od fizične do aplikacijske ravni), in njihove osnovne medsebojne povezave;
Uporabniki obstoječega standarda so vabljeni k ogledu teh dokumentov, preden sprejmejo odločitve o izvajanju trenutnega standarda.
Ta standard se lahko prilagodi posameznim lastnostim in omejitvam vesoljskega projekta v skladu s standardom ECSS-S-ST-00.

Overview
EN 16603-50-26:2022 is the CEN adoption notice that brings CCSDS 232.1-B-2, Communications Operation Procedure-1 (COP‑1), into the ECSS system with a defined, minimal set of modifications. The document identifies which clauses and requirements of CCSDS 232.1-B-2 (Issue 2, September 2010) are modified for ECSS application and provides an applicability table (Table 4-1) to guide implementers.
This Adoption Notice:
- Applies CCSDS 232.1-B-2 for space engineering telecommand and space data link contexts.
- Specifies normative modifications in Clause 4 and lists additional non-normative differences in Annex A.
- Confirms that a recent CCSDS technical corrigendum does not affect the Adoption Notice.
Key Topics
COP-1 Protocol Integration: The Adoption Notice enables consistent integration of COP‑1 with ECSS documents and cross-references the TC Space Data Link Protocol (CCSDS 232.0-B-3) and related documents.
FARM-1 and FDU Handling: The notice clarifies behaviour when a Type-BD Transfer Frame is accepted by FARM-1 but no back-end buffer is available. Modifications specify how the FDU (Frame Data Unit) is placed, when data are erased, and how the FDU aborted indication and FDU arrived indication (GVCID) are signalled to Higher Procedures.
Applicability Table: Table 4-1 lists exact clause-level changes and the text substitutions required for ECSS conformity, useful for implementers performing gap analysis or conformance checks.
Normative vs Informative: Clause 4 contains the mandatory ECSS modifications; Annex A (informative) describes additional differences such as the handling of a single back-end buffer for FARM-1, which is not part of CCSDS 232.1-B-2.
Applications
This Adoption Notice is practical for:
- System and protocol engineers implementing space data link solutions for ground-to-space telecommand and frame delivery.
- Project teams aligning CCSDS COP‑1 implementations with ECSS requirements and national adoption rules across CEN members.
- Test and verification teams that need to validate buffer behaviour, signalling of FDU indicators, and the integration of COP‑1 with TC Space Data Link Protocols.
Benefits include clearer interoperability expectations, a concise list of ECSS-required changes, and improved traceability when referencing CCSDS COP‑1 within ECSS-based procurements.
Related Standards

- EN 16603-50-04:2014 - Superseded by the current set of Adoption Notices.
For implementers, review Clause 4 and Table 4-1 in EN 16603-50-26:2022 for exact text modifications, and consult Annex A for explanatory differences not covered normatively.

Scope
This document identifies the clauses and requirements modified with respect to
the standards CCSDS 232.1-B-2, Communications Operation Procedure-1, Issue 2,
September 2010 for application in ECSS.
NOTE The recently published technical corrigendum
has modified CCSDS 232.1-B-2. However, the
changes are not affecting the AS.
Context information
The standard CCSDS 232.1-B-2, Communications Operation Procedure-1, Issue 2,
has been developed by CCSDS in support of CCSDS 231.0-B adopted by ECSS
with EN 16603-50-26 (ECSS-E-AS-50-26).
In the standard CCSDS 232.0-B-3, TC Space Data Link Protocol, CCSDS specifies a
data link layer protocol for the efficient transfer of space application data of
various types and characteristics over ground-to-space links. The
Communications Operation Procedure-1 (COP-1) specified in CCSDS 232.1-B-2
is used with the TC Space Data Link Protocol: it provides a mechanism for
delivery of frames in sequence and without gaps or duplication.
This Adoption Notice adopts and applies CCSDS 232.1-B-2 with a minimum set
of modifications, identified in the present document, to allow for reference and
for a consistent integration in the ECSS system of standard
