Textile fabrics - Determination of the recovery from creasing of a horizontally folded specimen by measuring the angle of recovery
Creases in textile fabrics diminish at varying rates on the removal of the creasing forces. The magnitude of the crease recovery angle is an indication of the ability of a fabric to recover from accidental creasing. The results obtained by this method for textile fabrics of very different kinds cannot be compared directly.

La présente Norme Internationale spécifie une méthode pour déterminer l'angle rémanent des étoffes après pliage. Les résultats obtenus par cette méthode ne donnent pas des résultats directement comparables entre eux, lorsqu'il s'agit d'étoffes de genres très différents. L'attention est attirée sur le fait que, pour certains types d'étoffe, le manque de tenue, l'épaisseur et la tendance à rouler de l'échantillon, peuvent donner naissance à des angles rémanents très mal définis et, par conséquent, à un manque de précision inacceptable dans les mesurages effectués; c'est le cas de la plupart des étoffes de laine et laine mélangée.
