This European Standard specifies the general requirements for ergonomics, sizing, coverage and performance of protective clothing and equipment for use in the sport of fencing. Requirements for the marking of clothing and equipment and the information to be supplied by the manufacturer are given. Test methods are described and performance levels are defined.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die allgemeinen Anforderungen bezüglich Ergonomie, Größe, Umfang und Eigen¬schaften der Schutzkleidung und ausrüstung für den Fechtsport fest. Die Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung der Bekleidung und Ausrüstung sowie die Herstellerinformation werden angegeben. Prüfverfahren werden beschrieben und die Leistungsstufen definiert.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences générales en matière d’ergonomie, de dimensionnement, de surface protégée et de performances des vêtements et équipements de protection destinés à être utilisés dans la pratique de l’escrime. Elle mentionne les exigences de marquage des vêtements et des équipements et la notice d’information du fabricant qui doit les accompagner. Elle décrit les méthodes d’essai et définit les niveaux de performance.

This document shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2007 and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 2007. This document includes Amendment 1, approved by CEN on 2007-05-10. This document supersedes EN 13567:2002.
