Child care articles - Reclined cradles and infant swings
This document specifies safety requirements and the corresponding test methods for reclined cradles intended for children from birth up to when they start to stand up and infant swings intended for children from birth up to when they start to try to sit up.This document is also applicable to car seats complying with UN R44 or UN R129 that can be used as reclined cradles according to manufacturer’s instructions. If usage as reclined cradle is not included in the product information or marketing material, car seats are excluded from the scope of this document. This document does not cover reclined cradles or infant swings designed for children with special needs and/or falling under the scope of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (medical devices). If a reclined cradle or infant swing has several functions or can be converted into another function the relevant European standards apply to it. Swings falling under the scope of EN 71-8 are excluded from the scope of this European Standard.
NOTE For the rest of the document, the word “product” will be used when referring at the same time
to reclined cradles and infant swings.

Dieses Dokument legt Sicherheitsanforderungen und die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren für fest stehende oder zusammenklappbare Kinderliegesitze und Babyschaukeln fest, die für Kinder bestimmt sind, bis diese begin nen zu versuchen, sich aufzusetzen.
Dieses Dokument gilt ebenfalls für Autokindersitze nach UNR44 oder UNR129, die nach Herstellerangaben als Kinderliegesitze verwendet werden können. Wenn die Verwendung als Kinderliegesitz nicht in den Produkt informationen oder im Marketingmaterial enthalten ist, sind Autokindersitze nicht vom Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokumentes abgedeckt.
Wenn ein Kinderliegesitz oder eine Babyschaukel über mehrere Funktionen verfügt oder in eine andere Funktion umgebaut werden kann, muss dieser den zutreffenden Europäischen Normen entsprechen.
Schaukeln, die in den Anwendungsbereich von EN71-8 fallen, sind vom Anwendungsbereich dieser Europäischen Norm ausgeschlossen.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences de sécurité et les méthodes d’essai correspondantes relatives aux transats fixes ou pliants et aux balancelles suspendues destinés aux enfants jusqu’à ce qu’ils commencent à essayer de s’asseoir.
Le présent document s’applique également aux sièges-auto conformes au Règlement UN R44 ou UN R129 pouvant être utilisés comme transats conformément aux instructions du fabricant. Si l’utilisation comme transat n’est pas incluse dans les informations relatives au produit ou les documents de commercialisation, les sièges-auto n’entrent pas dans le domaine d’application du présent document.
Si un transat ou une balancelle suspendue pour enfant offre plusieurs fonctions ou peut être converti(e) pour assurer une autre fonction, les Normes européennes pertinentes s’appliquent.
Les balançoires relevant du domaine d’application de l’EN 71 8 sont exclues du domaine d’application de la présente Norme européenne.
NOTE Dans le reste du document, le terme « produit » est utilisé pour désigner à la fois les transats et les balancelles suspendues pour enfants.
