This document provides requirements and recommendations for the design, construction and operation of newly installed liquefied natural gas (LNG) railway loading and unloading facilities for use on onshore LNG terminals, LNG satellite plants, handling LNG tank wagons or tank containers engaged in international trade.
The designated boundary limits of this document are between the LNG terminal’s inlet/outlet piping headers at the beginning of the rail loading or unloading area and the rail track area used for LNG tank wagons and containers. It is applicable to all rail loading bays, weighbridge(s) and related subsystems.

Dieses Dokument umfasst Anforderungen und Empfehlungen für die Bauweise, die Konstruktion und den Betrieb von neu installierten Bahnbeladezonen/Bahnentladezonen für Flüssigerdgas (LNG) für die Nutzung an landseitigen LNG-Verladestationen, LNG-Satellitenanlagen, die Handhabung von LNG-Kesselwagen oder von Tankcontainern, die im internationalen Handel eingesetzt werden.
Die festgelegten Grenzen dieses Dokuments liegen zwischen den Einlass-/Auslassrohrleitungen der LNG-Verladestationen am Anfang der Bahnbeladezone/Bahnentladezone und dem Gleisbereich, der für LNG-Kesselwagen und Tankcontainer genutzt wird. Es ist für alle Bahnverladezonen, Brücken- oder Gleiswagen und alle dazu gehörigen Untersysteme anwendbar.

La présente Norme internationale contient des lignes directrices et des recommandations pour la conception, la construction et l’exploitation de nouvelles installations ferroviaires de chargement et de déchargement de gaz naturel liquéfié (GNL) destinées à être utilisées sur des terminaux méthaniers terrestres, des stations satellites de GNL, pour la manutention de wagons ou de conteneurs-citernes de GNL dans le cadre du commerce international.
Les limites désignées pour la présente norme se situent entre les collecteurs d’entrée/de sortie du terminal méthanier au début de la zone de (dé)chargement ferroviaire et la zone de la voie ferrée utilisée pour les wagons-citernes et conteneurs de GNL. Elle comprend tous les quais de chargement ferroviaires, le ou les ponts bascules et les sous-systèmes connexes.

1 Scope
This International Standard gives guidelines and recommendations for the design, construction and
operation for newly installed liquefied natural gas (LNG) railway loading and unloading facilities for
use on onshore LNG terminals, LNG satellite plants, handling LNG tank wagons or tank containers
engaged in (inter)national trade.
This International Standard is supplementary to local or national standards and regulations.
The designated boundary limits of this standard are between the LNG terminal’s inlet/outlet piping
headers at the beginning of the rail (un)loading area and the rail track area used for tank wagons/
containers. It includes all rail loading bays, weighbridge(s) and related hereto subsystems.
