Vorwort
ISO (die Internationale Organisation für Normung) ist eine weltweite Vereinigung nationaler Normungs-
organisationen (ISO-Mitgliedsorganisationen). Die Erstellung von Internationalen Normen wird üblicher-
weise von Technischen Komitees von ISO durchgeführt. Jede Mitgliedsorganisation, die Interesse an einem
Thema hat, für welches ein Technisches Komitee gegründet wurde, hat das Recht, in diesem Komitee
vertreten zu sein. Internationale staatliche und nichtstaatliche Organisationen, die in engem Kontakt mit ISO

ISO 17234-1 wurde von der Kommission für chemische Prüfungen der „International Union of Leather
Technologists and Chemists Societies“ (IUC Commission, IULTCS) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Europäischen
Komitee für Normung (CEN), Technisches Komitee CEN/TC 289, Leder, dessen Sekretariat von UNI gehalten
wird, gemäß der Vereinbarung über technische Kooperation zwischen ISO und CEN (Wiener Vereinbarung)
erarbeitet. Dieses Verfahren ist der Methode IUC 20, die bei der IULTCS-Delegiertenversammlung am
31. Mai 2003 in Cancun, Mexico, zu einer amtlichen Methode erklärt wurde, technisch ähnlich.
IULTCS wurde 1897 gegründet und ist eine weltweite Organisation professioneller Ledergesellschaften zur
Weiterentwicklung der Lederwissenschaft und -technologie. IULTCS besteht aus drei Kommissionen, die für
die Festlegung internationaler Verfahren der Probenahme und Prüfung von Leder zuständig sind. ISO er-
kennt IULTCS als ein internationales Normungsinstitut für die Vorbereitung von Prüfverfahren von Leder an.
Diese dritte Ausgabe von ISO 17234-1 ersetzt die zweite Ausgabe (ISO 17234-1:2015), deren Abschnitte 6, 7,
8 und 9 technisch überarbeitet wurden. Es wurde ein neuer informativer Anhang D hinzugefügt.

3 Allgemeines
Bestimmte Azofarbstoffe können durch reduktive Spaltung von Azogruppen ein oder mehrere der folgenden
aromatischen Amine freisetzen, die in Anlage 8 der EU-Verordnung 1907/2006, Anhang XVII, des Europäi-
