Coating powders - Part 3: Determination of density by liquid displacement pyknometer (ISO 8130-3:1992)

The method is based on a determination of the mass and the volume of a test portion. The pyknometer (in accordance with ISO 787-10) has to use a liquid that completely wets the product under test without swelling or dissolving it.

Dieser Teil von ISO 8130 legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Dichte von Pulverlacken mit einem Pyknometer durch Flüssigkeitsverdrängung fest. Das Verfahren basiert auf der Bestimmung der Masse und des Volumens einer Probenmenge.
Das festgelegte Gerät ist relativ preiswert, aber das Pyknometer-Verfahren mit Flüssigkeitsverdrängung neigt dazu, fehlerhafte Ergebnisse zu liefern, insbesondere wenn das Pulver im Kontakt mit der verwendeten Verdrängungsflüssigkeit quillt oder die Verdrängungsflüssigkeit die Luft zwischen den Pulverteilchen nicht vollständig verdrängt. Das Verfahren mit Flüssigkeitsverdrängung ist viel langsamer in der Durchführung und weniger genau als das in ISO 8130-2 festgelegte Verfahren mit einem Gasvergleichspyknometer. Es wird nur
angewendet, wenn die gleichen Ergebnisse wie nach dem Verfahren mit Gasvergleichspyknometer erhalten werden.

Praškasti premazi - 3. del: Določevanje gostote s piknometrom z izpodrivom tekočine (ISO 8130-3:1992)

Ta del standarda ISO 8130 določa metodo določevanja gostote praškastih premazov s piknometrom z izpodrivom tekočine. Metoda temelji na določevanju mase in prostornine preskusnega vzorca. Navedeni aparat je relativno poceni, vendar pa lahko pri metodi merjenja s piknometrom z izpodrivom tekočine pogosteje pride do napačnih rezultatov, zlasti če prah ob stiku z uporabljeno izpodrivno tekočino nabrekne ali če izpodrivna tekočina ne izpodrine povsem zraka med delci prahu. Izvajanje metode z izpodrivom tekočine je precej počasnejše in manj natančno od metode s piknometrom za primerjavo plinov, ki je opisana v standardu ISO 8130-2, zato se sme uporabljati samo, če je mogoče dokazati, da se rezultati ujemajo z rezultati metode s piknometrom za primerjavo plinov.

The text of ISO 8130-3:1992 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 “Paints and varnishes” of
the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 8130-3:2010 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by May 2011.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent

Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
federation of national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work
of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0
