1 Scope
This European Standard specifies a static test method for measuring the strength of a conveyor belt mechanical fastening; the mechanical joints can be either of the type employing a connecting rod or of a type which does not employ a connecting rod.
This standard does not cover vulcanized joints.
NOTE The purpose of the test specified in this standard is to eliminate mechanical fastenings of insufficient static strength. A dynamic test will be established at a later date.
The standard is not applicable or valid for light conveyor belts as described in EN 873.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein statisches Prüfverfahren zur Ermittlung der Festigkeit von lösbaren oder nicht lösbaren mechanischen Verbindungen an Fördergurten fest. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für vulkanisierte Verbindungen. Anmerkung: Mit Hilfe des in dieser Europäischen Norm beschriebenen Verfahrens sollen Gurtverbindungen mit ungenügender statischer Festigkeit ausgesondert werden. Ein dynamisches Prüfverfahren soll zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt festgelegt werden.

La présente norme internationale spécifie une méthode d'essai statique de la résistance de l'assemblage agrafé, démontable ou non, des courroies transporteuses. Elle ne s'applique pas aux jontionnements vulcanisés. Note: L'essai spécifié dans la présente norme internationale a pour but l'élimination des agrafes présentant une résistance statique insuffisante. Un essai dynamique devra être établi ultérieurement. La présente norme n'est pas applicable ou valable pour les courroies transporteuses légères décrites dans l'EN 873.

Foreword
This document (EN ISO 1120:2002) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 188
"Conveyor belts", the secretariat of which is held by BSI, in collaboration with Technical Committee
ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)".
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2002, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2002.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the
following countries are bound to implement this European Standard : Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands,
