Materials obtained from end of life tyres - Quality criteria for the selection of whole tyres, for recovery and recycling processes

This Technical Specification provides criteria for the selection of Whole End-of-Life Tyres (WELTs) under different classes based on their size. It also provides criteria for determination of their suitability to be used in recycling and material recovery processes.  
The processes described in this document include sorting of WELTs in order to determine their acceptance in recovery and recycling processes.
Criteria regarding the reuse of tyres to be mounted again in a vehicle are not addressed in this document.
This Technical Specification does not cover the operational performance of the applications or the requirements of the materials for certain applications, which are usually agreed between the manufacturer and the customer.
Solid tyres are excluded from the scope of this document.

Materialien aus Altreifen - Qualitätskriterien für die Auswahl von ganzen Reifen für Verwertung und Recycling-Prozesse

Diese Europäische Norm enthält Kriterien für die Auswahl von ganzen Altreifen (WELT) verschiedener Klassen anhand ihrer Größe. Darüber hinaus enthält es Kriterien zur Bestimmung der Eignung für Recycling und werkstoffbezogene Verwertungsprozesse.
Die in diesem Dokument beschriebenen Verfahren schließen die Sortierung der WELT ein, um deren Akzeptanz für Verwertungs- und Recycling-Prozesse festzustellen.
Kriterien für die Wiederverwendung von Reifen zur erneuten Montage an ein Fahrzeug sind nicht Bestandteil dieses Dokuments.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für die operative Leistung der Anwendungen oder die Anforderungen an die Werkstoffe für bestimmte Anwendungen, welche in der Regel zwischen dem Hersteller und dem Kunden vereinbart werden.
Vollgummireifen sind vom Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments ausgenommen.

Ta tehnična specifikacija podaja merila za izbiro celih izrabljenih pnevmatik (WELT) v različnih razredih glede na njihovo velikost. Podaja tudi merila za določanje njihove primernosti za uporabo v postopkih recikliranja in predelave materiala.   Postopki, opisani v tem dokumentu, vključujejo razvrščanje pnevmatik WELT za določanje njihove sprejemljivosti za postopke predelave in recikliranja. Merila glede ponovne uporabe pnevmatik na vozilih niso obravnavana v tem dokumentu. Ta tehnična specifikacija ne zajema operativnega delovanje uporabe ali zahtev materialov za nekatere načine uporabe, o katerih se običajno dogovorita proizvajalec in kupec. Trdne pnevmatike so izključene iz področja uporabe tega dokumenta.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 2 January 2017 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS
available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in
parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
