Stationary training equipment - Part 2: Strength training equipment, additional specific safety requirements and test methods
This part of EN 957 specifies additional safety requirements for strength training equipment in addition to the general safety requirements of prEN 957-1. This part of EN 957 is applicable to stationary training equipment type strength training equipment (type 2) (hereinafter referred to as training equipment) with the classes S and H. Any attachment provided with the training equipment for the performance of additional exercises are subject to the requirements of prEN 957-1.

La présente partie de la Norme européenne spécifie les exigences de sécurité supplémentaires relatives aux appareils d'entraînement de force, en complément des exigences générales de sécurité de l'EN 957-1.
Elle s'applique aux appareils d'entraînement fixes de type appareils d'entraînement de force utilisant des piles de poids ou d'autres moyens de résistance comme des disques-poids, de la corde élastique, des systèmes hydrauliques, pneumatiques et magnétiques et des ressorts (type 2) (désignés ci-après comme appareils d'entraînement) avec les classes S et H.
Les accessoires fournis avec les appareils d'entraînement pour la pratique d'exercices supplémentaires doivent répondre aux exigences de l'EN 957-1.

This document (EN 957-2:2003) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 136, “Sports, playground
and other recreational equipment”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or
by endorsement, at the latest by November 2003, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest
by November 2003.
