Growing media - Determination of specific parameters

This document provides an overview of relevant methods for the determination of specific parameters in growing media, including:
—   the electrical conductivity;
—   the pH;
—   dry matter;
—   the nitrogen, P2O5 (phosphorus pentoxide) and K2O (potassium oxide) content extractable by CaCl2/DTPA;
—   the total copper and zinc content;
—   the quantity.
This document is applicable to EU fertilizing products classified as PFC 4 and PFC 7 as long as the main function of the EU fertilizing product is classified as PFC 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 [1].
This document is not applicable to preformed materials such as mineral wool slabs and foam slabs.

Kultursubstrate - Bestimmung spezifischer Parameter

Dieses Dokument gibt ein Überblick über relevante Verfahren zur Bestimmung spezifischer Parameter von Kultursubstraten, darunter:
- die elektrische Leitfähigkeit;
- der pH Wert;
- die Trockensubstanz;
- der Gehalt an mittels CaCl2/DTPA extrahierbarem Stickstoff, P2O5 (Phosphorpentoxid) und K2O (Kaliumoxid);
- der Gesamtgehalt an Kupfer und Zink;
- die Menge.
Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für EU Düngeprodukte der Kategorien PFC 4 und PFC 7, vorausgesetzt, die Hauptfunktion des EU Düngeprodukts entspricht der Kategorie PFC 4 aus Verordnung (EU) 2019/1009 [1].
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anzuwenden für vorgeformte Materialien wie etwa Platten aus Mineralwolle oder Schaumstoff.

Supports de culture - Détermination des paramètres spécifiques

Le présent document donne un aperçu des méthodes pertinentes pour la détermination de paramètres spécifiques dans les supports de culture, notamment :
—   la conductivité électrique ;
—   le pH ;
—   la matière sèche ;
—   l'azote, la teneur en P2O5 (pentoxyde de phosphore) et K2O (oxyde de potassium) extractible par CaCl2/DTPA ;
—   la teneur en cuivre et en zinc ;
—   la quantité.
Ce document est applicable aux fertilisants UE classés en PFC 4 et PFC 7, tant que la fonction principale du fertilisant UE est classée en PFC 4 du règlement (UE) 2019/1009 [1].
Ce document n'est pas applicable aux matériaux préformés tels que les pains de laine minérale et les pains de mousse.

Ta dokument vsebuje pregled ustreznih metod za določanje specifičnih parametrov v rastnih substratih, vključno s/z:
–   električno prevodnostjo;
–   pH-jem;
–   suho snovjo;
–   vsebnostjo dušika, P2O5 in K2O, ki jo je mogoče pridobiti s CaCl2/DTPA;
–   skupno vsebnostjo bakra in cinka;
–   količino.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 3 January 2022 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS
available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in
parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.

CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
