This European Standard specifies the definitions and requirements for buried manholes and inspection chambers installed in non-pressure drainage and sewerage systems to a maximum depth of 6 m from ground level to the invert of the main chamber and manufactured from unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), polypropylene (PP), polypropylene with mineral modifier (PP-MD) or polyethylene (PE). These products are intended for use in pedestrian or vehicular traffic areas and underground installations conforming to the general requirements given in EN 476 and are used outside the building structure (application area code "U"). They are therefore marked accordingly with a "U". Such products are also deemed to meet the requirements of EN 13598-1 for application area U without the need for further testing.
These manholes and inspection chambers may also be used for storm-water systems.
This European Standard is only applicable to those chamber / manhole components (base, riser, cone telescopic part and other near surface components) where the manufacturer has clearly stated in the documentation how the components shall be assembled to create a complete manhole or inspection chamber. This European standard only covers manholes and chambers with flow profile bases with or without sloping channels. It also covers the jointing of the component to the pipework system.
The frame cover and grating components shall, unless otherwise specified, comply with EN 124-1, EN 124-2, EN 124-3, EN 124-4, EN 124-5 and EN 124-6 [1] or EN 1253-4[2].
- The products covered by this European standard comprise the following:manholes constructed on a drain or sewer to permit entry by personnel.
- inspection chambers providing access to the drainage or sewerage system by means of inspection and cleaning equipment.
NOTE 1 Shallow inspection chambers for use in non-roadway situations down to a depth of 1,25 m max are specified in EN 13598-1.
The manhole and inspection chamber components can be manufactured by various methods e.g. injection moulding, rotational moulding, low-pressure moulding or fabricated from components made in accordance with other standards.
NOTE 2 Both manholes and inspection chambers can be site assembled from different components, but can also be manufactured as a single unit.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Begriffe für und Anforderungen an erdverlegte Einsteigschächte und Kontroll¬schächte fest, die in drucklose Entwässerungs- oder Abwassersysteme bis zu einer Einbautiefe von 6 m eingebaut werden, gemessen zwischen Geländeoberkante und Sohle des Hauptschachtes, die aus weichmacherfreiem Polyvinylchlorid (PVC U), Polypropylen (PP), Polypropylen mit mineralischen Additiven (PP-MD) oder Polyethylen (PE) hergestellt sind. Diese Produkte sind für den Einsatz in Verkehrsflächen für Fußgänger- und Fahrzeugverkehr und für erdverlegte Anwendungen entsprechend den allgemeinen Anforderungen nach EN 476 sowie für Anwendungen außerhalb einer Gebäudestruktur vorgesehen (Anwendungskennzeichen "U"). Dementsprechend sind sie mit der Kennzeichnung "U" versehen. Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass derartige Produkte auch die Anforderungen von EN 13598-1 für den Anwendungsbereich mit dem Anwendungskennzeichen "U" erfüllen, ohne dass weitere Prüfungen erforderlich sind.
Diese Einsteigschächte und Kontrollschächte dürfen auch für Regenwassersysteme verwendet werden.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt ausschließlich für solche Kontroll-/Einsteigschacht-Bauteile (Schachtunterteil, Steigrohr, Konus, Teleskopteile und andere oberflächennahe Bauteile), für die in der Dokumentation des Herstellers eindeutig angegeben ist, wie die einzelnen Bauteile zusammenzubauen sind, um einen vollständigen Einsteig- oder Kontrollschacht zu montieren. Diese Europäische Norm beinhaltet nur Einsteigschächte und Kontrollschächte, die Schachtunterteile mit Gerinneausbildung sowohl mit als auch ohne Gefälle haben. Sie enthält auch Angaben zum Anschluss der Bauteile an das Rohrleitungssystem.
Der Rahmen, die Abdeckung und die Bauteile für Roste müssen, sofern nicht anders festgelegt, EN 124-1, EN 124-2, EN 124-3, EN 124-4, EN 124-5 und EN 124-6 [1] oder EN 1253-4 [2) entsprechen.
Die in dieser Europäischen Norm behandelten Produkte umfassen Folgendes:
- Einsteigschächte, die in ein Entwässerungs- oder Abwassersystem eingebaut werden, um Zugang von Personal zu ermöglichen;
- Kontrollschächte, die das Einbringen von Inspektions- und Reinigungsausrüstung in das Entwässerungs- oder Abwassersystem zulassen.
ANMERKUNG 1 Kontrollschächte für geringe Einbautiefen bis höchstens 1,25 m ohne Verkehrslast sind in EN 13598-1 festgelegt.
Die Einsteigschacht- und Kontrollschacht-Bauteile können in verschiedenen Verfahren hergestellt werden, z. B. Spritzgießen, Rotationsgießen, Niederdruckgießen oder Fertigung aus Bauteilen, die nach anderen Normen hergestellt wurden.
ANMERKUNG 2 Sowohl Einsteig- als auch Kontrollschächte können vor Ort aus verschiedenen Bauteilen montiert oder auch als einzelne Einheit gefertigt werden.

La présente Norme Européenne spécifie les définitions et les exigences pour les regards et boîtes d’inspection et de branchement enterrés installés dans des systèmes de branchements et de collecteurs d’assainissement sans pression jusqu’à une profondeur maximale de 6 m du niveau du sol au niveau du radier de la boîte principale et fabriqués en poly(chlorure de vinyle) non plastifié (PVC-U), en polypropylène (PP), en polypropylène avec modificateurs minéraux (PP-MD) ou en polyéthylène (PE). Ces produits sont destinés à être utilisés dans les zones de circulation de piétons ou de véhicules et dans les réseaux enterrés conformes aux exigences générales indiquées dans l’EN 476 et sont utilisés à l’extérieur de la structure du bâtiment (code de zone d’application « U »). En conséquence, ils sont marqués d’un « U ». De tels produits sont également supposés répondre aux exigences de l'EN 13598 1 pour les zones d'application U sans besoin d'essai supplémentaire.
Ces regards et boîtes d’inspection et de branchement peuvent également être utilisés pour des systèmes d’eaux pluviales.
La présente Norme Européenne est uniquement applicable aux composants de boîtes / regards (élément de fond, élément de rehausse, cône, partie télescopique et autres composants proches de la surface) dont le fabricant a clairement indiqué dans la documentation le mode d’assemblage en vue de construire un regard ou une boîte d’inspection et de branchement complet. La présente Norme Européenne couvre uniquement les regards et boîtes avec des éléments de fond à profil d’écoulement avec ou sans cunettes inclinées. Elle couvre également l’assemblage de composants du système de canalisation.
Les composants du cadre, du tampon ou de la grille doivent, sauf spécification contraire, être conformes à l'EN 124 1, l’EN 124 2, l’EN 124 3, l’EN 124 4, l’EN 124 5 et l’EN 124 6[1] ou l'EN 1253 4[2].
Les produits relevant de la présente Norme Européenne sont les suivantes :
- regards construits sur un branchement ou un collecteur d’assainissement pour permettre l’entrée du personnel ;
- boîtes d’inspection et de branchement donnant accès au système de branchements ou de collecteurs d’assainissement au moyen d’équipements d’inspection et de curage.
NOTE 1 Les boîtes d’inspection et de branchement peu profondes pour les applications hors chaussée jusqu'à une profondeur maximale de 1,25 m sont spécifiées dans l'EN 13598 1.
Les composants du regard / de la boîte d’inspection et de branchement peuvent être fabriqués selon diverses méthodes, à savoir : par moulage par injection, moulage par rotation, moulage à basse pression ou être produits à partir de composants fabriqués conformément à d’autres normes.
NOTE 2 Tant les regards que les boîtes d’inspection et de branchement peuvent être assemblés sur site à partir de différents éléments mais ils peuvent également être fabriqués en un seul élément.

Ta evropski standard določa definicije in zahteve za podzemne vstopne ter revizijske jaške, ki so vkopani na globini največ 6 m od površja do invertnega dela glavnega jaška in izdelani iz nemehčanega polivinilklorida (PVC-U), polipropilena (PP), polipropilena z mineralnim modifikatorjem (PP-MD) ali polietilena (PE). Ti proizvodi so namenjeni za uporabo v prometnih območjih peščev ali vozil in podzemnih inštalacijah v skladu s splošnimi zahtevami, podanimi v standardu EN 476, in se uporabljajo zunaj stavbne konstrukcije (koda območja uporabe »U«). Zaradi tega so ustrezno označeni z oznako »U«. Tovrstni proizvodi morajo izpolnjevati tudi zahteve standarda EN 13598-1 za območje uporabe »U« brez potrebe po dodatnem preskušanju. Če je dodana oznaka območja uporabe »D«, se morajo za te proizvode opraviti dodatni preskusi, potrebni za preverjanje skladnosti z zahtevo glede kroženja povišane temperature iz 10. točke standarda EN 13598-1. Ta evropski standard se uporablja samo za predele jaškov, za katere je proizvajalec v dokumentaciji jasno navedel, kako je treba sestavne dele sestaviti v zaključen vstopni ali revizijski jašek. Revizijski jaški, ki jih zajema ta evropski standard: – revizijski jaški, ki omogočajo dostop do sistema odvodnjavanja ali kanalizacijskega sistema za opremo za pregled in čiščenje; – jaški, oblikovani kot vstopni jaški, ki omogočajo človekov dostop do sistema odvodnjavanja ali kanalizacijskega sistema.
