Resilient floor coverings - Specification for plain and decorative linoleum

This European Standard specifies the characteristics of plain and decorative linoleum, supplied as either tiles or rolls.
To encourage the consumer to make an informed choice, the standard includes a classification system based on intensity of use, which shows where resilient floor coverings should give satisfactory service (see EN 685). It also includes requirements for marking.
The term 'linoleum' is frequently incorrectly applied to a range of floor coverings, often to those based on polyvinyl chloride or rubber. Such materials are not included in this standard.

Elastische Bodenbeläge - Spezifikation für Linoleum mit und ohne Muster

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Linoleum mit und ohne Muster fest, das entweder in Form von Platten oder auch als Rollen geliefert wird.
Um den Verbraucher bei seiner Auswahl zu unterstützen, enthält diese Norm ein Klassifizierungssystem (siehe EN 685) auf Basis der Nutzungsintensität, das zeigt, wo für diese Bodenbeläge ein zufriedenstellender Nutzen möglich wäre. Die Norm legt auch die Bedingungen zur Kennzeichnung fest.
Der Begriff „Linoleum“ wird häufig fälschlicherweise auch für andere Bodenbeläge, oft für solche auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid oder Elastomeren, verwendet. Derartige Materialien sind nicht in dieses Dokument eingeschlossen.

Revêtements de sol résilients - Spécifications pour le linoléum uni et décoratif

La présente Norme européenne prescrit les caractéristiques du linoléum uni et décoratif sous forme de
rouleaux ou de dalles.
Pour aider le consommateur à faire son choix, la présente norme inclut un système de classification basé sur
l'intensité d'utilisation, indiquant l'endroit où le revêtement de sol résilient rendrait un service satisfaisant (voir
l’EN 685). Elle comprend également des exigences relatives au marquage.
Le terme « linoléum » est fréquemment appliqué de manière incorrecte à une gamme de revêtements de sol,
souvent à base de polychlorure de vinyle ou de caoutchouc. De tels matériaux ne sont pas inclus dans la
présente norme.

Ta evropski standard določa značilnosti linoleja z vzorcem ali brez njega, dostavljenega v obliki plošč ali zvitka.
Da bi ta evropski standard potrošnike spodbujal k sprejemanju utemeljenih odločitev, vsebuje klasifikacijski sistem, ki temelji na intenzivnosti uporabe, ki kaže, kje bi se te netekstilne talne obloge lahko zadovoljivo uporabljale (glej EN 685). Vključuje tudi zahteve za označevanje.
Izraz »linolej« se večkrat nepravilno uporablja za različne talne obloge, pogosto za talne obloge na osnovi polivinilklorida ali gume. Taki materiali niso vključeni v ta standard.

This document (EN 548:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 “Resilient, textile and
laminate floor coverings”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by September 2011.
