Machinery for forestry - Safety requirements and testing for pole-mounted powered pruners - Part 1: Units fitted with an integral combustion engine (ISO 11680-1:2000)

This part of ISO 11680 specifies safety requirements, and the verification of those requirements, for the design, fabrication and use of portable, hand-held, pole-mounted powered pruners, having an integral combustion engine as the power source and using a drive shaft to transmit power to cutting attachments. The cutting attachments covered are saw chains, and reciprocating and circular saw blades. This part of ISO 11680 describes methods for the elimination or reduction of hazards arising from their use. In addition it specifies the type of information on safe working practices to be provided by the manufacturer. It does not cover the risk of electric shock from overhead electric power lines during use of the pruners, with the exception of warnings and advice intended for inclusion in instruction handbooks. A test method and safety requirements addressing this risk are yet to be developed. The list of significant hazards which require action to reduce the risk is given in annex A. Environmental aspects have not been considered. This part of ISO 11680 applies primarily to pruners manufactured after its date of issue.

Forstmaschinen - Sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfung für motorbetriebene Hochentaster - Teil 1: Geräte mit integriertem Verbrennungsmotor (ISO 11680-1:2000)

Dieser Teil der ISO 11680 enthält sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und die Feststellung deren Übereinstimmung
für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von handgehaltenen Hochentastern (nachfolgend als
„Hochentaster“ bezeichnet) mit integriertem Verbrennungsmotor als Antrieb, die mit einer Antriebswelle zur
Kraftübertragung auf die Schneidgarnitur ausgestattet sind. Die behandelten Schneidgarnituren sind Sägeketten,
scherenartige Schneidvorrichtungen und rotierende Kreissägeblätter.
Dieser Teil der ISO 11680 beschreibt Verfahren für die Beseitigung oder Verringerung von Gefährdungen, die
durch ihren Einsatz entstehen. Außerdem legt er die Art der Informationen für sichere Arbeitsweisen fest, die
vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind. Das Risiko des Kontaktes oder der unmittelbaren Nähe zu
Starkstromleitungen wird abgesehen von Warnhinweisen und Hinweisen in der Betriebsanleitung in dieser
Norm nicht behandelt. Zu diesem Risiko müssen Prüfmethoden und Anforderungen erarbeitet werden.
Die Liste der signifikanten Gefährdungen, die Maßnahmen zur Verminderung des Risikos erfordern, ist in
Anhang A enthalten.
Die Gefährdung der Umwelt wird in dieser Norm nicht in Betracht gezogen.
Dieser Teil der ISO 11680 gilt in erster Linie für Hochentaster, die nach dem Ausgabedatum der Norm
hergestellt worden sind.

La présente partie de l'ISO 11680 spécifie les exigences de sécurité et les vérifications requises pour la conception et la construction des perches élagueuses à moteur portatives (appelées perches élagueuses dans le texte), tenues à la main, équipées d'un moteur à combustion interne intégré comme source motrice et fonctionnant avec un arbre de transmission pour alimenter le dispositif de coupe. Les dispositifs de coupe couverts sont les chaînes de scies, les lames de scie circulaires et les lames alternatives. La présente partie de l'ISO 11680 décrit les méthodes pour éliminer ou réduire les phénomènes dangereux inhérents à l'utilisation des perches élagueuses. En outre, elle spécifie le type d'informations que le fabricant doit donner sur les pratiques d'utilisation sûre. Elle ne spécifie cependant pas de mesures techniques permettant de réduire les risques liés au contact ou à la proximité de lignes électriques aériennes, en dehors des avertissements et conseils donnés dans la notice d'instructions. Une méthode d'essai et des exigences de sécurité traitant de ce type de risque reste encore à élaborer. La liste des phénomènes dangereux significatifs, nécessitant une action pour réduire le risque, est donnée à l'annexe A. Les aspects liés à l'environnement ne sont pas couverts. La présente partie de l'ISO 11680 s'applique avant tout aux perches élagueuses fabriquées après sa date de publication.

The text of ISO 11680-1:2000 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 23 “Tractors and
machinery for agriculture and forestry” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has
been taken over as EN ISO 11680-1:2008 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 144 “Tractors and machinery for
agriculture and forestry” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by December 2009.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
