Paints and varnishes - Determination of release rate of biocides from antifouling paints - Part 1: General method for extraction of biocides (ISO 15181-1:2007)

ISO 15181-1:2007 specifies a general method for extracting biocides from antifouling paint films into artificial seawater under specified laboratory conditions. It is used in conjunction with the other parts of ISO 15181 to determine the amounts of specific biocides in the extract, for example copper and/or certain organic biocides, and to enable the release rate of those biocides from the paint film under the specified laboratory conditions to be calculated.

Dieser Teil von ISO 15181 legt ein allgemeines Verfahren zum Extrahieren von Bioziden aus Antifouling-Beschichtungen mit künstlichem Meerwasser unter festgelegten Bedingungen fest. Das Verfahren wird in Verbindung mit anderen Teilen von ISO 15181 zum Bestimmen des Gehaltes an bestimmten Bioziden im Extrakt, zum Beispiel Kupfer und/oder bestimmte organische Biozide, unter festgelegten Laborbedingungen und zum Berechnen der Auswaschrate des Biozids aus der Beschichtung angewendet.

L'ISO 15181-1:2007 spécifie une méthode générale d'extraction des biocides contenus dans les feuils de peintures antisalissures dans une eau de mer synthétique et dans des conditions spécifiées de laboratoire. Elle est utilisée en liaison avec d'autres parties de l'ISO 15181 pour déterminer la teneur en biocides spécifiques contenus dans l'extrait, par exemple cuivre et/ou certains biocides organiques, et permettre le calcul du taux de lixiviation de biocides contenus dans le feuil de la peinture dans des conditions spécifiées de laboratoire.

"Paints and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 "Paints and
varnishes", the secretariat of which is held by DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2007, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 2007.

This document supersedes EN ISO 15181-1:2004.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
