This European Standard specifies the products characteristics and associated test and assessment methods applicable to coated and lined ductile iron pipes, coated and lined fittings and joints which include (non-exhaustive list) coated and lined accessories such as collar, tees, saddles, bends, tapers, flanged socket.
Intended use: Gravity and pressure drains and sewers:
-   operating without pressure, or with positive or negative pressure;
-   installed below or above ground;
-   for conveyance of surface water, wastewater in separate systems or in combined systems.

Umhüllte und ausgekleidete Rohre, Formstücke, Zuberhörteile aus duktilem Gusseisen und ihre Verbindungen für die Abwasser-Entsorgung - Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Produktmerkmale und zugehörigen Prüf  und Bewertungsverfahren für umhüllte und ausgekleidete Rohre aus duktilem Gusseisen, umhüllte und ausgekleidete Formstücke und Verbindungen fest, zu denen (Aufzählung nicht abschließend) umhüllte und ausgekleidete Zubehörteile wie Kupplungen, Abzweige, Schellen, Bögen, Übergangsstücke, Flanschmuffenstücke gehören.
Vorgesehener Verwendungszweck: Schwerkraft  und Druck Abwasserleitungen und  kanäle:
-   zum Betrieb als Freispiegelleitung oder mit positivem oder negativem Druck;
-   die erdüberdeckt oder oberirdisch eingebaut werden,
zum Transport von Oberflächenwasser und Abwasser in Trenn  oder in Mischwassersystemen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les caractéristiques des produits et les méthodes d’essai et d’évaluation associées applicables aux tuyaux et raccords en fonte ductile revêtus extérieurement et intérieurement, ainsi qu’aux assemblages comprenant (liste non ¬exhaustive) les accessoires revêtus extérieurement et intérieurement tels que les manchons, les tés, les selles, les coudes, les cônes et les brides-emboîtements.
Ces tuyaux, raccords et assemblages sont destinés aux branchements et aux collecteurs d’assainissement gravitaires et sous pression :
-   fonctionnant sans pression, ou sous pression positive ou négative ;
-   mis en oeuvre dans le sol ou en élévation ;
pour transporter les eaux en surface et les eaux usées en système séparatif ou unitaire.

EN 598 specifies the requirements and associated test methods applicable to ductile iron pipes, fittings, accessories and their joints for the construction of drains and sewers outside buildings:
-   operating without pressure (gravity sewerage), or with positive or negative pressure;
-   to be installed below or above ground;
-   to convey surface water, domestic waste water and certain types of industrial effluents, either in separate systems or in combined systems.
This technical report:
-   explains in more detail the process of testing for the performance tests;
-   explains in more detail the benefits of high alumina cement lining;
-   explains in more detail the definitions of the different types/levels of attestation to enable customers to ensure their requirements are fulfilled;
-   explains in more detail the ways of certification of conformity with EN 598 for a reliable evaluation of the performance of products;
-   explains in more detail CE marking and its relevance i.e. the CE mark is not a mark of conformity with a standard but only a self-declaration concerning the CPD essential requirements.

This European Standard specifies the requirements and associated test methods applicable to ductile iron pipes, fittings, accessories and their joints for the construction of drains and sewers outside buildings:
-   operating without pressure (gravity sewerage), or with positive or negative pressure (see Table 5);
-   to be installed below or above ground;
-   to convey surface water, domestic waste water and certain types of industrial effluents, either in separate systems or in combined systems.
This European Standard applies to pipes, fittings and accessories which are:
-   manufactured with socketed, flanged or spigot ends;
-   normally delivered externally and internally coated;
-   suitable for continuous fluid temperatures between 0 °C excluding frost, and 45 °C for DN - 200 or 35 °C for
DN - 200, according to EN 476;
-   not intended for use in areas subject to reaction to fire regulations.
NOTE 1   This does not preclude special arrangements for the products to be used at higher temperatures.
This European Standard covers pipes, fittings and accessories cast by any type of foundry process or manufactured by fabrication of cast components, as well as corresponding joints, of a size range extending from DN 80 to DN 2000 inclusive.
This European Standard specifies requirements for materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties and standard coatings of ductile iron pipes and fittings. It also gives performance requirements for all components including joints. Joint design and gasket shapes are outside the scope of this European Standard.
NOTE 2   In this European Standard, all pressures are relative pressures, expressed in bars (100 kPa = 1 bar).

Pipes and fittings according to this European Standard may also be used in central vacuum cleaning installations, in vacuum suction lifting installations, in chip transporting installations and in other waste water and process pipes as long as the media to be discharged do not damage the components or the health and safety of the personnel.
For other pipes, this European Standard only applies if agreed with the relevant operators and following prior consultation with the manufacturer.
This European Standard contains a designation system for the different types of pipes and fittings for easy identification of each component.
This European Standard is only applicable in conjunction with EN 1124-1.
