Child use and care articles - Drinking equipment - Part 2: Chemical requirements and tests

This part of this document specifies limits for the release of certain chemicals from materials to be used for the manufacture of the following drinking equipment:
- Re-usable feeding teats and drinking accessories;
- Re-usable feeding bottles and drinking cups;
- Single-use feeding bottles, feeding teats, feeding bags and drinking accessories, which do not contain fluid when purchased.
It includes test methods for the chemical safety requirements specified.
It does not apply to drinking equipment designed for medical applications or for use under medical supervision.
This document is not applicable to soothers. Safety requirements and test methods for soothers are specified in EN 1400-1, EN 1400-2 and EN 1400-3.

Dieser Teil dieses Dokuments legt Grenzwerte für die Migration bestimmter chemischer Stoffe aus Materialien fest, die für die Herstellung der folgenden Artikel für flüssige Kindernahrung verwendet werden:
-   wiederverwendbarer Ernährungssauger und Trinkhilfen;
-   wiederverwendbarer Fläschchen und Trinkbecher;
-   Einmalfläschchen, Ernährungssaugern, Fütterungsbeuteln und Trinkhilfen, welche beim Kauf ungefüllt sind.
Eingeschlossen sind Prüfverfahren für die festgelegten chemischen Sicherheitsanforderungen.
Dies gilt nicht für Artikel für flüssige Kindernahrung, die für medizinische Anwendungen oder zur Benutzung unter ärztlicher Aufsicht vorgesehen sind.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Schnuller. Sicherheitsanforderungen an und Prüfverfahren für Schnuller werden in EN 1400-1, EN 1400-2 und EN 1400-3 festgelegt.

La présente partie de cette norme européenne définit les limites de la libération de certaines substances chimiques par des matériaux utilisés dans la fabrication des articles pour l'alimentation liquide indiqués ci-après :
-   tétines de biberons et accessoires pour l'alimentation liquide réutilisables ;
-   biberons et tasses pour l'alimentation liquide réutilisables ;
-   biberons, tétines de biberons, biberons à sachets et accessoires pour l'alimentation liquide à usage unique qui ne contiennent pas de liquide quand on les achète.
La présente norme comprend des méthodes d'essai concernant les exigences chimiques spécifiées en matière de sécurité.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux articles pour l'alimentation liquide conçus pour des applications médicales ni aux articles destinés à être utilisés sous surveillance médicale.
La présente norme européenne ne s'applique pas aux sucettes. Les exigences en matière de sécurité et les méthodes d'essai relatives à ces articles sont spécifiées dans les EN 1400-1, EN 1400-2 et EN 1400-3.

Child care articles - General safety guidelines - Part 5: Product information

Product information given in standards has a direct impact on safety. It should contribute to avoiding risks to the child. However, product information is not intended to compensate for design deficiencies and does not in itself make a product safer but is a means for the manufacturer to communicate with the user. Reasonable foreseeable misuse and risks of the product should be made explicit and adequate warnings be given.
All product information should be in the language(s) of the country in which the product is sold. It should be presented so that it is unambiguous, legible and easy to read and comprehend.
A risk analysis should be applied to identify those hazards for which safety-related product information is required.
