Gas cylinders - Inspection and maintenance of valves (ISO 22434:2022)

This document specifies requirements for the inspection and maintenance of valves [including ball valves and valves with integrated pressure regulator (VIPRs)] for:
a) refillable transportable gas cylinders;
b) cylinder bundles;
c) pressure drums and tubes;
which convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases.
This document does not apply to valves for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
NOTE       Where there is no risk of ambiguity, gas cylinders, cylinder bundles, pressure drums and tubes are addressed with the collective term “gas cylinders” within this document.
This document is applicable to valves reused at the time of the periodic inspection of gas cylinders, cylinder bundles, pressure drums and tubes, and can be applied at any other time, e.g. at a change of gas service (see ISO 11621).
This document does not apply to the routine inspection of valves, e.g. carried out at the time of a gas cylinder filling.

Gasflaschen - Inspektion und Instandhaltung von Gasflaschenventilen (ISO 22434:2022)

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Inspektion und Instandhaltung von Ventilen [einschließlich Kugelventilen und Ventilen mit integriertem Druckregler (VIPR, en: valve with integrated pressure regulator)] für
a) wiederbefüllbare ortsbewegliche Gasflaschen,
b) Flaschenbündel,
c) Druckfässer und Großflaschen,
zum Transport verdichteter, verflüssigter oder unter Druck gelöster Gase fest.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Ventile für Flüssiggas (LPG).
ANMERKUNG   Wenn kein Risiko einer Mehrdeutigkeit besteht, werden Gasflaschen, Flaschenbündel, Druckfässer und Großflaschen in diesem Dokument mit dem Sammelbegriff „Gasflaschen“ bezeichnet.
Dieses Dokument ist für Ventile anwendbar, die zum Zeitpunkt der wiederkehrenden Inspektion von Gasfla¬schen, Flaschenbündeln, Druckfässern und Großflaschen wiederverwendet werden, und kann zu jedem anderen Zeitpunkt angewendet werden, z. B. bei einem Wechsel der Gasart (siehe ISO 11621).
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für die Routineinspektion von Ventilen, die z. B. zum Zeitpunkt einer Gasflaschen¬befüllung durchgeführt wird.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences de contrôle et de maintenance des robinets [y compris les robinets à boisseau sphérique et les robinets avec détendeur de pression intégré (VIPR)] pour:
a) les bouteilles à gaz transportables et rechargeables;
b) les cadres de bouteilles;
c) les fûts à pression et tubes;
qui acheminent des gaz comprimés, liquéfiés ou dissous.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux robinets pour GPL (gaz de pétrole liquéfié).
NOTE            Lorsqu’il n’y a pas de risque d’ambigüité, les bouteilles à gaz, cadres de bouteilles et tubes et fûts à pression sont désignés par le terme générique «bouteilles à gaz» dans le présent document.
Le présent document est applicable aux robinets réutilisés lors du contrôle périodique des bouteilles à gaz, cadres de bouteilles, fûts à pression et tubes, et à n’importe quel autre moment; par exemple lors du changement de service de gaz (voir l’ISO 11621).
Le présent document n’est pas applicable aux contrôles de routine des robinets, par exemple effectués au moment du remplissage des bouteilles à gaz.

Plinske jeklenke - Pregled in vzdrževanje ventilov za jeklenke (ISO 22434:2022)

Ta dokument določa zahteve za pregled in vzdrževanje ventilov (vključno s krogelnimi ventili in ventili z vgrajenim regulatorjem tlaka (VIPR)) za: a) ponovno polnljive premične plinske jeklenke; b) sklope jeklenk; c) tlačne valje in cevi; po katerih se pretakajo stisnjeni, utekočinjeni ali raztopljeni plini. Ta dokument se ne uporablja za ventile za utekočinjeni naftni plin (LPG). OPOMBA: Če ne obstaja tveganje dvoumnosti, so plinske jeklenke, sklopi jeklenk ter tlačni valji in cevi v tem dokumentu imenovani s skupnim izrazom »plinske jeklenke«. Ta dokument se uporablja za ventile, ki se večkrat uporabijo v času periodične kontrole plinskih jeklenk, sklopov jeklenk ter tlačnih valjev in cevi, lahko pa se uporablja tudi v drugih primerih, npr. pri spremembi namembnosti (glej standard ISO 11621). Ta dokument se ne uporablja za redni pregled ventilov, na primer pregled, ki se izvede v času polnjenja plinske jeklenke.

This document (EN ISO 22434:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 58 "Gas
cylinders" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 23 “Transportable gas cylinders” the
secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 22434:2011.
