This project should not go through a parallel procedure under VA bcs no agreement between CEN and ISO/JTC1 --> withdrawn from VA (NT/021219).

Dieser Teil von ISO/IEC15423 legt die Prüfmittel und Verfahren zur Ermittlung der Leistung von Scannern und Decodern für Strichcodes fest. Er definiert Anforderungen für Verfahren zum Abtasten und Decodieren von 1D-Codes. Dabei werden solche Strichcode-Scanner und -Decoder sowohl als integrierte Lesesysteme als auch als eigenständige Einheiten behandelt. Er definiert die Leistung von Geräten in einer bestimmten Konfiguration (z. B. für ein bestimmtes Modell) unabhängig von den verwendeten Einzelkomponenten. Weiterhin werden in einem normativen Anhang Möglichkeiten zur Klassifizierung von Scannern sowie Betriebsparameter festgelegt.
ANMERKUNG   ISO/IEC 15423-2 enthält Leistungsanforderungen an Scanner und Decoder für zweidimensionale Symbole.

Foreword



The text of ISO/IEC 15423:2004 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/IEC/JTC 1
"Information technology" of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is
planned to be taken over as EN ISO/IEC 15423:2005 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 225
"AIDC technologies", the secretariat of which is held by NEN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2006, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2006.

This document supersedes ENV 12646:1997.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,
