Overview
prHD 60364-7-730 (CLC draft) is a harmonization document that provides particular requirements for on‑shore units of electrical shore connections for inland navigation vessels. It supplements the general parts of HD 60364 and applies to on‑shore installations that supply commercial and administrative inland navigation vessels berthed in ports and berths. This draft replaces HD 60364‑7‑730:2015 and references specific product and installation standards (EN 15869‑1, EN 15869‑2, EN 16840).
Key topics and technical requirements
- Scope & exclusions
- Covers on‑shore installations for inland navigation vessels (commercial/administrative).
- Excludes on‑board installations and shore‑connection cables (see EN 15869‑3); pleasure craft requirements are covered by HD 60364‑7‑709.
- Supply characteristics
- Nominal supply: 400 V, three‑phase AC, 50 Hz.
- Allowed system earthing on board: TN‑S, TT, IT (per EU directive reference in the draft).
- Galvanic isolation
- If an on‑shore isolating transformer is used, it shall comply with EN 61558‑2‑4.
- The protective conductor (PE) from the transformer must not be connected to the earth terminal in the socket‑outlet supplying the vessel.
- Protection for safety
- Certain passive protective measures (e.g., obstacles, placing out of reach, non‑conducting location, earth‑free local equipotential bonding) are not acceptable for these locations.
- Degree of protection
- Equipment selection shall achieve IP54 or better for the assembled electrical system.
- Cables and wiring
- Suitable wiring: underground, overhead (with restrictions), armoured, mineral‑insulated, or insulated copper conductors in robust cable management.
- Underground cables should be buried to avoid mechanical damage (note: 0.6 m commonly regarded as a minimum).
- Overhead cables are not permitted over waterways; minimum clearances specified for areas with vehicle movement.
- Switching & protective devices
- Socket‑outlets up to 63 A: RCD ≤ 30 mA, disconnects all live conductors (phases + neutral).
- Socket‑outlets >63 A to 125 A: RCD ≤ 300 mA, disconnects all live conductors.
- Socket‑outlets above 125 A: require shore‑connection monitoring (e.g., per EN 16840).
- Individual overcurrent protection is required for each socket‑outlet.
- Each distribution board shall have at least one means of isolation that disconnects all live conductors.
- Socket‑outlet requirements
- Compliance with EN 60309‑1/2/4 (and EN 61984 for single‑core ≥250 A) as applicable.
- One socket‑outlet shall supply only one on‑board electrical grid and must be placed in an appropriate enclosure (EN 15869‑2 / EN 16840).

23 Introduction
24 For the purpose of this part, the requirements of the general Parts 1 to 6 and parts 8 of HD 60364 apply.
25 The 7XX parts of publication HD 60364 contain particular requirements for special installations or locations
26 which are based on the requirements of the general parts of HD 60364 (parts 60364-1 to 60364-6 and parts
27 8). These 7XX parts are expected to be considered in conjunction with the requirements of the general parts.
28 The particular requirements of this part of HD 60364 supplement, modify or replace certain requirements of
29 the general parts of HD 60364 being valid at the time of publication of this part. The absence of reference to
30 the exclusion of a part or a clause of a general part means that the corresponding clauses of the general part
31 are applicable (undated reference).
32 Requirements of other 7XX parts being relevant for installations covered by this part also apply. This part
33 could therefore also supplement, modify or replace certain of these requirements valid at the time of
34 publication of this part.
35 The clause numbering of this part follows the pattern and corresponding references of HD 60364. The
36 numbers following the particular number of this part are those of the corresponding parts, or clauses of
37 HD 60364 being valid at the time of publication of this part as indicated in the normative references of this
38 document (dated reference).
39 If additional requirements or explanations are needed which have no direct relation to general parts or other
40 7XX parts the numbering of such clauses are stated as 7XX.101, 7XX.102, 7XX.103 etc.
41 NOTE In the case where new or amended general parts with modified numbering were published after this part was
42 issued, the clause numbers referring to a general part in this 7XX part might no longer align with the latest edition of the
43 general part. Dated references are expected to be observed.
