Običajno so črne barve. Materiali, skladni s to specifikacijo, ustrezajo vzpostavljenim ravnem delovanja. Vendar mora uporabnik material za določeno uporabo izbrati na podlagi dejanskih zahtev za ustrezno delovanje pri takšni uporabi, in ne le na podlagi same specifikacije.

Overview

EN 62329-3-100:2010 (adopted from IEC 62329-3-100:2010) specifies the dimensional requirements for heat-shrinkable moulded shapes used for electrical insulation and connector protection. The sheet defines common styles, nominal sizes and how moulded shapes are designated and supplied. Items may be provided with pre-coated adhesive or uncoated, and the document notes that colour is normally black.

Key topics

  • Scope and purpose
    • Establishes standard shape dimensions for heat-shrinkable moulded shapes to ensure interchangeability and consistent fit.
    • Applies to shapes normally supplied in the styles and dimensions shown in Tables 1–22 and Figures 1–22.
  • Styles covered
    • Standard styles AA through V including small/large lipped bottles, straight and right-angle boots, transitions (T, Y), multi-branch outlets, and D-sub miniature boots.
  • Dimensional requirements
    • Tables list dimensions in millimetres (lengths, diameters, wall features) and refer to figure details for each style. Custom styles may be used if they meet the material performance sheets, except for dimensional conformity.
  • Material and accessory notes
    • Moulded shapes may be pre-coated with adhesive (or supplied uncoated) - users should refer to manufacturer options.
    • Drain-hole and eyelet options are noted; designation rules include colour and adhesive status.
  • Designation and references
    • Example designation format is provided (including IEC publication number, part, sheet, style/size code, colour and adhesive indicator).
    • Normative references include IEC 62329-1 (definitions/general requirements) and IEC 60757 (colour codes).

Applications

  • Cable termination and sealing - electrical insulation and environmental sealing of cable ends, connectors and harnesses.
  • Connector boots and protection - insulating boots for plugs, sockets, D‑sub connectors and right-angle terminations.
  • Transition and branching - standardised shapes for T, Y, and multi-branch cable exits in wiring assemblies.
  • Manufacturing and procurement - parts specification for OEMs, harness manufacturers and procurement teams who require consistent dimensions for assembly and design.
  • Testing and conformity - used by test laboratories and certification bodies together with material and compatibility sheets to verify performance.

Who should use this standard

  • Cable and connector designers, harness manufacturers, component suppliers, procurement specialists and test laboratories seeking consistent heat-shrinkable moulded shape dimensions and clear designation practices.

FOREWORD 1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). Their preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with may participate in this preparatory work. International, governmental and non-governmental organizations liaising with the IEC also participate in this preparation. IEC collaborates closely with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance with conditions determined by agreement between the two organizations. 2) The formal decisions or agreements of IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, an international consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation from all interested IEC National Committees.
3) IEC Publications have the form of recommendations for international use and are accepted by IEC National Committees in that sense. While all reasonable efforts are made to ensure that the technical content of IEC Publications is accurate, IEC cannot be held responsible for the way in which they are used or for any misinterpretation by any end user. 4) In order to promote international uniformity, IEC National Committees undertake to apply IEC Publications transparently to the maximum extent possible in their national and regional publications. Any divergence between any IEC Publication and the corresponding national or regional publication shall be clearly indicated in the latter. 5) IEC itself does not provide any attestation of conformity. Independent certification bodies provide conformity assessment services and, in some areas, access to IEC marks of conformity. IEC is not responsible for any services carried out by independent certification bodies. 6) All users should ensure that they have the latest edition of this publication. 7) No liability shall attach to IEC or its directors, employees, servants or agents including individual experts and members of its technical committees and IEC National Committees for any personal injury, property damage or other damage of any nature whatsoever, whether direct or indirect, or for costs (including legal fees) and expenses arising out of the publication, use of, or reliance upon, this IEC Publication or any other IEC Publications.
8) Attention is drawn to the Normative references cited in this publication. Use of the referenced publications is indispensable for the correct application of this publication. 9) Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this IEC Publication may be the subject of patent rights. IEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. International Standard IEC 62329-3-100 has been prepared by IEC technical committee 15: Solid electrical insulating materials. 1 Scope This sheet of IEC 62329-3 gives the dimensional requirements for heat-shrinkable moulded shapes. The moulded shapes may be supplied with a pre-coated adhesive. Refer to the manufacturers/suppliers for options. These moulded shapes are normally supplied in the styles and dimensions given in Tables 1 to 22. The colour is normally black. Styles and dimensions other than those specifically listed in Tables 1 to 22 may be available as custom items. These items shall be considered to comply with this standard if they comply with the property requirements listed in the sheets for material performance, with the exception of dimensions. Materials that conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
