Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components - Performance standard - Part 111-08: Sealed closures for Category G - Ground

IEC 61752-111-08:2021 contains the minimum tests, test severities and measurement requirements which a sealed fibre optic closure need to meet in order to be categorised as meeting the IEC standard for category G - Ground, as defined in Table A.14 of IEC 61753-1:2018. Free breathing closures are not covered in this document. This first edition cancels and replaces IEC 61753-111-8 published in 2009. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC 61753-111-8: a) terms and definitions updated according to IEC 61753-1:2018 and IEC 61756-1:2019; b) test severities updated according to IEC 61753-1:2018; c) sealing tests are done with 20 kPa overpressure; d) pass-fail criterion of pressure loss during test added to mechanical sealing tests; e) vibration sealing test changed to 10 Hz, 3 mm amplitude and 1 000 000 cycles; f) reduced loads added in cable retention test for small diameter cables and tubes; g) reduced loads for cable axial compression test for small diameter cables; h) the duration of the cycles in torsion and bending test is added; i) free fall test removed (is covered by the optical shock test); j) crush resistance test of 1 000 N for 10 min is added; k) assembly and disassembly test: duration reduced to 5 cycles; l) resistance to solvents and contaminating fluids: added immersion in diesel with duration of 1 h and 24 h drying time and added immersion in petroleum jelly for 5 days; m) resistance to stress cracking solvents added for 5 days; n) duration of the change of temperature reduced to 12 cycles; o) water immersion test at 1 m for 7 days added.

IEC 61753-111-08: 2021 contient les essais, les sévérités d’essai et les exigences de mesure minimaux auxquels un boîtier fibronique scellé est tenu de satisfaire afin d’être classé comme conforme aux exigences de la norme IEC pour la catégorie G – au niveau du sol, telle qu’elle est définie dans le Tableau A.14 de l’IEC 61753‑1:2018. Les boîtiers à ventilation libre ne sont pas couverts par le présent document. Cette première édition annule et remplace l’IEC 61753-111-8 parue en 2009. Cette édition constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l’IEC 61753‑111‑8: a) mise à jour des termes et définitions conformément à l’IEC 61753-1:2018 et à l’IEC 61756‑1:2019; b) mise à jour des sévérités d’essai conformément à l’IEC 61753-1:2018; c) réalisation des essais de performance d’étanchéité avec une surpression de 20 kPa; d) ajout aux essais de performance d’étanchéité sur contrainte mécanique du critère d’acceptation/de rejet relatif à une perte de pression au cours de l’essai; e) modification de l’essai de vibrations pour la performance d’étanchéité, défini sur une fréquence de 10 Hz, une amplitude de 3 mm et 1 000 000 cycles; f) ajout de charges réduites à l’essai de rétention du câble, pour les câbles et tubes de faible diamètre; g) charges réduites pour l’essai de compression axiale du câble, pour les câbles de faible diamètre; h) ajout de la durée des cycles dans l’essai de torsion et de courbure; i) suppression de l’essai de chute libre (couvert par l’essai aux chocs optiques); j) ajout de l’essai de résistance à l’écrasement de 1 000 N pendant 10 min; k) réduction à 5 cycles de la durée de l’essai de montage et démontage; l) pour la résistance aux solvants et aux fluides contaminants, ajout d’une immersion dans du gazole pendant 1 h avec un temps de séchage de 24 h, et ajout d’une immersion dans du pétrolatum pendant 5 jours; m) ajout de la résistance aux solvants exerçant une fissuration sous contrainte pendant 5 jours; n) réduction à 12 cycles de la durée des variations de température; o) ajout de l’essai d’immersion dans l’eau à 1 m pendant 7 jours.
